2004 was one of Prince's biggest years, which is saying something. Having the biggest tour of the year and one of the biggest concert tours in U.S. history made Prince one of the biggest acts in the country again for that year. The hype created by what some consider two historic performances - RRHOF and the Grammy's - just added to all the excitement surrounding the tour. Then add good video airplay as well new music being regulary played on R&B radio - Call My Name - and you have what is a really special year to be a Prince fan. . I'll never forget walking through downtown DC, on our way to the arena to see the show, and seeing all the restaurants packed and Prince music playing from the speakers. Then he gave one of the best performances I've seen later that night. Wow!

Unless you were a die hard fan, this was the era that put him back in the mainstream according to critics with the Grammy Performance and the RRHOF induction and performances. Never had the chance to see him live, but have checked out some YouTube footage of the tour. I also saw the MTV special they did and the interview with Sway and also the interviews with Matt Lauer on the Today show and Much Music. Loved the live performances especially DMSR, Prince and the Band and Shhhh. I also loved his look during this time also. Love is God, God is love, girls and boys love God above~

That sounds very interesting! Thank u for the info, heard now first time about that. Wow... this makes me think... did he want to release a DVD? Then one of my biggest wishes would come true. Musicology is my jam - the entire era. His look is just on point. I loved his suits, the mixed coloured ones, BAM, amazing. And the album.. I don't have to say much, at least I hope so because I'm digging every song on that album. I sadly wasn't able to see him on tour.. so far just on youtube, that's why I would love a DVD. And we'll try to imagine what it looks like
Yeah, we'll try to imagine what, what silence looks like ...

This was a great year for Prince. He was doing interviews, performing on late night shows and daytime tv, making music videos, and making a lot of $$$$$. The tour was a huge success, well done with great musicians, and grossed over 100 million dollars. What I didn't understand is why he didn't build on that success.

you liked the look? interesting, most of the people here raked him over the coals for what they called pimp suits. Prince's suits were nice.

I too love this era and his look. What an entertainer. He won 3 Grammy awards for Musicology. I just ordered the CD on Amazon because I couldn't find it in the stores anywhere. The tour made 50 million dollars too. [Edited 10/23/16 9:24am] fan for life
