Honestly, for all the pomp and circumstance, represented in the receiving of these awards and what they mean towards the careers of the recipients. The awards themselves, really aren't all that. I've personally held an AMA and a Grammy in my hands. And as beautiful as they are made to look on TV for the award shows, I can flat out tell you that they are not made of crystal nor gold.

So I understand how they can just end up in an auction.

I know people here hate TMZ, but TMZ says it's a done deal. Prince has won. That is why the family is showing up. Apparently, the winners are notified ahead of time.

Personally, I don't know if I can even watch the AMAs tonight -- it's just too sad for me. I think it's wonderful, but these award shows are nothing but satanic rituals anymore, and I'm not supporting that crap.

Nice to see people standing and showing some respect...so happy he won!!! Great to see Tyka accept on his behalf... it was definitely emotional!! By the way, 984 and counting... I would love to see that list (I have never counted up all the songs on princevault, but I am assuming they don't add up to 984)...

Also loved her speech. It was passionate, classy, not too religious, inclusive, heartfelt, emotional (she cried at the end) and even poetic. I was impressed.

Well, I told myself that I wasn't going to watch the AMAs, but I only did it to honor PRINCE!! I thought Tyka's speech was beautiful, and I was really touched by her words.
