Is it possible 4 the Hub 2 come back. I sure miss it. it was really cool. i never knew why it disappeared anyway.

Fun times... I damn near killed my poor little computer snatching up as many goodies as I could D/L. Spent many a weekend falling asleep in front of my screen waiting for entire shows to finish and waking up in the morning like it's Christmas lol.

Ahhh yes! The good old Royal Hub! Those were the days! It was pretty bad downloading with 56k a modem! LOL, it took forever!

The Royal Hub was THA BOMB!! It was Prince download Heaven!! I remember at the time, i never shut my computer down, it was on 24/7 with so much stuff queued up to download as well as to share!! U name anything u wanted and it was on there!!

I reckon that IF it did start up again, I would remember how to set it all up!!

So many, many fond memories and even met some really cool people on there as well!!

I've no idea when it got shut down but even back in 03/04 when I was briefly around, I was surprised it was able to be there! I think I got a link to it from just going to Page N on a Google search although I might have been using another search engine back then. The fact that I was able to find it and get onto it without some cloak and dagger invitation suggested it wouldn't last long but it clearly did.

I wish now I hadn't forgotten about it (I have long periods offline) to the extent of not even remembering the name later but anyway, my education was vastly enhanced by interacting with serious experts.

It WAS a cloak and dagger operation to get on it!! First u had to download the Direct Connect software(DC++), then register a username and password, then get the IP address of the Royal Hub, then contact the Hubmaster with your username and password so u could then be accepted in!! Upload 3 boots or more that u already had onto your system, set up 3 folders(Sharing, Uploading(or Downloading I cant remember), Complete), then check that u had allocated 2 or more slots for the download and uploading process and connect everything up to your system!! Then last important step - NOT TELL A FUCKING SOUL ABOUT IT!!!!

It was good while it lasted but times have moved on.
