I think he described it best when he sang he was cute and a pretty man. But this same man also sang he wished he was tall and handsome like his brother and even once called himself 'ugly' in a song. . Also, like I said Prince relied on makeup a bit too much in my opinion for me to believe that he thought he was 'handsome' in any traditional sense. I think he thought he was using the power of persuasion and image to convince everyone he was handsome. He was handsome, but I am not sure he totally realized how handsome he could be without makeup and all the effort.

Was he a narcissist? A lot of people are guilty of narcissism, but I am not sure they go around being narcissistic all the time. I doubt Prince did either. He had too much to do other than obsess over his appearance. He hired people to do that. I did not mind his vanity because it almost always seemed like an act of defiance and will. Why can't a 5'2" inch, skinny, light-skinned African American man be a sexy bitch? He was not the Paul Newman HOllywood steretype of handsomeness. He was better in my opinion because his beauty was unique and almost a defiant act of will as well.

Yes, I thought Prince was the most handsome in the late 70s before the makeup. The Mapplethorpe photo is a prime example of just how naturally gorgeous he really was. He didn't need the makeup but it became part of his image. After that I'm sure it was hard to go back.

Nah, Prince was most handsome in the Diamonds and Peals era.

Of course Prince knew how handsome he was. How could he not look in the mirror each and every day and go WOW!!!!! I am G O R G E O U S!!!!!!! Good job, God!!!! That man might have been little but his looks alone more than made up for his small size. That stubble on his face - that long, wind blown hair and those beautiful eyes! Let me stop myself. I'm breaking out in a sweat!

The only person who would really know the answer is Prince himself!

A question I would love to ask is: Did Prince REALLY know how talented he was? Did he REALIZE the impact he had an not only the African-American communities but the impact he had ALL over the world?

Did he realize how many LIVES he has blessed and changed just by reaching out to them and including them in his life?

Did he realize how just how SPECIAL how was to so many?

It's not always about appearance! It's about the character! That's what makes a person unforgettable!
