Why do you say "or"? It could could have been both. But if he took incorrectly labeled pill, then accidental overdose is still much more likely.

Without the autopsy report to review, we don't know.

I believe both, and always have, especially given the hints I see him dropping since 2014 (and now confirmed by Tyka).

The Fentanyl overdose is not in doubt - but my belief is he knew he was playing Russian Roulette with these drugs and chose to let fate (or God) decide when he should go - so not a 'true' suicide but not a total accident either.

Incidentally, I'm not ruling out a co-existing opioid dependency either. No reason not to think that all of these factors played a part.

It could have been both. Another possiblity is that Tyka has known for 2 years that he had a drug problem, but when she says that Prince stated that he has done everything that he came to do, that points more towards him accepting that his time was short due to illness.

There was an article that came out shortly after Prince died (I can't locate now), where a former band member (someone in the Revolution, maybe) made a statement about stopping chemo. It was not clear whether the person was talking about Prince or not, but at the time, I thought that it was an odd statement to make.

The article was focused on former band members and associates meeting up somewhere in Minneapolis a fews days or the week after he passed. Maybe someone knows which article I'm referring to and can post the link.

Huh? Just joining the conversation. The topic is Fentanyl or Terminal. That in itself isn't even a question as even if he was going to die the following week or later from some other cause, the immediate cause was the fentanyl.

As to who cares what he was taking? I care, I care a lot. If the report of the counterfeit pills which had fentanyl in are true, then he didn't know he was taking it and died needlessly.

Since day one of his death, I have leaned towards the theory he had a terminal illness and the overdose was a result of being careless. It's doubtful we will ever know where he obtained the bootlegged meds which killed him.

This matters in truth because it paints two completely different pictures of the man.

Was he terminal and seeking relief? Or had he been playing around with drugs and became addicted. (Which I may add, is in many cases, a terminal illness itself.)

No, I don't think "playing around with drugs" is at all a possibility. I think 'taking drugs to alleviate pain" is much more likely.

He was planning on meeting a rehab doctor for drug rehab/ pain managment. Had concert dates planned, autobiograhpy, and was supposed to meet with Harry Belafonte.

He was not planning on dying from pain meds but may have other health issues that was making his time short. More stuff is going to come out what are you and other deniers going to say when that happens.

You want to see his medical file? Do you really think he was 100% healthy?

We know Fentanyl killed him. The question is what else was going on?

He does not know anything. Anyone can die from an overdose of a substance and not be addicted.

I could die from Alcohol posioning and not have been an alcoholic.
