If Prince's Family was released...

Would you want Clare Fischer strings to be added in? Screams of Passion are lacking the final strings and Nothing Compares 2 U most likely is aswell.

So should they be released as Prince finally left them or overdubbed what seemed to be an integral part to The Family's sound?

They should be left as is. If there are versions sitting in the vault before and after Fischers overdubs then i'd like both

Good tough question.

In one way, I would say, lets get the vault material untouched.

But...equally, we know what Prince's final vision for the tracks was, by what was released, so I would argue we could complete a solo version of that vision from the tapes in the vault.

I think I'm going to cop out with an answer, like Rev81. I'd like a double disc release. 'Naked' and 'Clothed'. That would feel the most fitting for what would be a major project.

Without. As integral as Fisher's work was to the final product, it's always fascinating (and worthwhile, I think) to have an insight into the process.
