Yup. I watched all of this shit real time over the last six months of his life. Yeah it could be confusing to a fan who just became a fan after his death or pretty much became a casual fan and didn't always follow Prince until after his death. I feel thankful I finally got back to focus on Prince late last year after several years became disinterest in him during his final years.
And dont forget 'Wait a few days before you waste any prayers'. I and a few others were lambasted when we suspected he meant he was ready to go and also he was ready to move on when he said at one of his final concerts He lost faith in this planet and wish people would have gotten along or something like that.
He knew. I am also suspecting he tried to end his life on that airplane wanted to die in the sky because he was closer to heaven in the clouds. But what he didn't expected was that emergency landing. I believed he waited for a few more days (interviews from Judith Hill, the bodyguard, and the cook all said he sent them home the same week he died) and distract his concern associates and the public saying he was okay and then he tried again and he succeed.

But then Tyka said that when she got the call, the person on the other end said "He's gone". She said that she did not have to ask any questions because she knew who the person was talking about and that she was not surprised. To me, that says that she knew that he was very ill and did not have long.

Which is somewhat different than him saying he knew he was dying from something physical? I don't even know if I'm making sense with what I'm trying 2 say... Yes, you make absolute sense to me because to me saying "I have done all I was sent here to do", isn't the same thing as saying " I'm dying". As others have posted, i am also confused with the ET interview where she implied that she had two years to prepare and the Today interview, where she said at first it was 90% she didn't believe it. Also, if Prince was sick with Cancer Aids, whatever, the speculation, why would there be no trace of a legal prescription? So we are to believe he was sick with Aids/cancer, some other life threatening/terminal condition, but yet wasn't under a Dr's care at all (oh yeah, he hated drs), but instead was buying illegal Pharmaceuticals to treat his this condition? That makes absolutely no sense, and I am stupidly causing myself stress trying to figure out the truth and trying to make it all make sense. Think I will step away for a minute because this is crazy. I agree, it's confusing and contradictory. She could have meant she knew he was dying. She also could have been implying that this is when she discovered he had a problem...whether that's an addiction or periods of depression. People should stop jumping to conclusions and stating speculation as fact. Nobody here knows! I honestly think people are over analysing her comments. It's quite common phrasing for families of addicts to say stuff like that..preparing for the worst or living in fear of THE phone call. There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️

I don't know Tyka either. I agree that the two interviews were so completely different. She went from a grieving sister to almost aloof. . Isn't there a possibility that the "I've known for 2 years...." comment was either edited or she has some of Prince's sense of humor and was just playing some sick game or throwing out some bait to deflect from the o.d. cause of death???? . I got the impression that even the interviewer didn't know how to respond. I bet in hind sight he's kicking himself for not following that comment up. Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

They would have already done it by now if they felt it was their obligation. Of course this comment from Tyka doesn't help at all. Sigh. Paisley Park is in your heart

I watched the ET interview and her quotes indicated she knew he was dying and was prepared for it even though it crushed her heart and when she received that phone call she expected it. Its laughable how others think she meant otherwise. SMH.

Would "I have done all I was sent here to do" two years ago not relate to him getting his masters back? He spent 20 years or so obsessing about getting them back, and we all know how delighted about it he was. If he had gotten them back in 2008 he'd probably have said the same then as well. All I can say is if he was ill but didn't want the public to know and somebody (industry, associate, family, fan) discloses it they're on my shit list forever. And I don't think I'm the only one who would feel that way. If he didn't want people to know it's nobody's right to tell. Paisley Park is in your heart

I never looked at it that way, but the way you said it, it made a lot of sense. I don't know which would had been more sad and shocking for us fans to accept had he died in that plane from Atlanta or his death in an elevator a week later. I see this meaning and going so many ways. He could have had an underlying illness that his close family knew about....and not even his friends. What I lean towards now, is there was an illness....some kind of disease that he had. And his comment that he has done all he's come here to do....sounds very religious to me. Something that a very religious and spiritual person would ratinonlize a disease or illness as. "Gods will"..so to speak. And he accepted it as that, and in his mind, it was God's way of saying, "I'm taking you soon, because you have fullfilled your needs here". A lot of us would be angry and say "why me!??!"....Or fall apart and not know what to do next. His beliefs were strong. He embraced the thought of death in a few interviews I saw. I remember one person asked when he'd celebrate his life. And he said when he dies. So he wasn't afraid I don't think. When his time was up, he would accept it at that.
and the other part of me....says there was no illness. (other than hip pain) and his comment to his sister was more of a professional comment about his music, success etc. Still a spiritual comment to a point....but nothing that he would have been meaning he had an illness or was "dying". Or, she could have seen him in conditons and states, that no one else did. And even knew herself if he carried on like this, his days were numbered. Sometimes, close or not....family can sense things. More-so than even the closest friends and confidants. Family just "knows".......may not say anything...but they know...they sense..they see it.

I dont expected the family to release their copy of autospy report because even I dont want to know the graphic details
But when I received tons of orgnotes from fans that not only they agree with the info I share but also want to know what happen then I feel the family should just tell the truth instead of this cryptic shit and leaving more questions.
