In spite of ALL this knowledge, the albums I most relate to (and in their entirity) are Controversy, Around The World In A Day and Graffiti Bridge. I absolutely love these three albums with all my heart, and more so than any of the accepted classics mentioned above. I know there must be something wrong with me, but I just don't know what. I'm not even sure if this is starting to get me down but it probably is, otherwise I wouldn't be posting. Does anyone have any idea why I am so 'left of centre' in my passion for Prince's music? Someone please help me... (In fact, the album Camille would be included in my selection too). . [This message was edited Thu Apr 3 11:39:50 PST 2003 by Anji] Don't conform for the sake of towing the party line. You like what you like, and there's nothing wrong with that. I still don't believe SOTT is Prince's best multi-album set. Big whoop. I don't feel I should either. . [This message was edited Fri Apr 4 13:02:52 PST 2003 by Anji]

Once I felt Graffiti Bridge, for example, I've never 'questioned' the quality of it and it has remained in my heart since. That said, I have wondered why I appear to be the only one and I have found it encouraging to know that there are others out there with similar beliefs...i will queston why i like something in terms of what quality in that thing attracts me.

I was just starting my freshman year in high school. Graffiti Bridge was the quentisential album to me. I loved it more than any other Prince album, and more than most other albums I had at that time. Evaluating Prince's music in the context of everything else out there, and considering his music in the scope of your own current interests and feelings are two different things. If you dig it, roll with it and enjoy it!

You're not weird Anj, just unique. We all have our different taste. That's part of being a Prince fan...

I don't know what my motivation is, that's why I am asking y'all. Thanks for the support but I really need answers! Someone please tell me what the fuck is wrong with my taste in Prince music? I think the clues must be in the albums themselves...
And has it ever affected ya relationship wit ya mother? relax ANji...both albums are subtle and take a while to digest. GB the movie sucked. but the soundtrack album is good. Around the WORLD is pop-rock hardly any funk stuff in the grooves (maybe TAMbourine?) but i dig it too. P still gets major props from me for not doing Purple Rain part 2. Around the world is quite a departure. no..Anji you're alright...greatness is in the eye of beholder!

Each album is great in it’s own way. I find the albums I like best are the ones I relate to most. The themes and lyrics and stuff.
Camille is a killer album. The Sign of the times type trax, but only the funky as hell ones. NOTE: THIS ACCOUNT IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE CONTACT “K A M L L E”
