That One Song...

You've heard since April 21st, that broke your soul down, made your heart ache and your spirit weep?

For me it was just...

fit

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I didn't listen to anything for a couple of months. Just flat out didn't do it. I had to get to the point, somewhat, that "Prince: Dead at 57"'s dust had settled a tad. Then I started listening to Dirty Mind, and Camille a lot.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I cry my eyeballs out everyday when I listen to Prince slower love songs or any sad songs he made from 1984 then on. When I listen to any album prior to Purple Rain , I don't cry. I take my tears to the gym and use my emotions as energy. I do not get tired when I'm listening to Prince. I close my eyes and completely loose myself in his music and his voice, with tears rolling down my face and I don't even know I'm exercising anymore.
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

Two that stood out in this regard were Nothing Compares 2 U, my God those lyrics never stung so bad or felt so achingly true somehow. And another oddly enough was Stand Back, I think I just kept recalling the story of how Stevie called a young Prince, he just showed up, contributed and left. So humble, helpful and sweet he was that day it sounded like.

I've smiled everytime I've played him after the first week. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I didn't listen to any of his songs for a few days after he died. Then thinking I could handle it played Adore, was I ever wrong. I cried so hard, literally blubbering saying why Prince. I still to this day won't play Sometimes It Snows In April and Way Back Home.

Also have to add; last night I was in bed listening to Condition of The Heart and God. More tears, I think there will be songs of his that will get to me now that he has passed.

I was at that show. Couldn't really see Prince though. I was in the 3rd tier and a little tipsy. Mostly saw the top of his head and I danced. I remember thowing it down when 'Six' came on.

I am a later fan. But about a week after purchasing Parade (about three months ago), Sometimes it Snows in April caused tears. And since then the following songs have drawn tears.

Live version of Black Muse

There is Lonely

I love you but I don't trust you anymore
