Great 2nd part of interview via Dr. Funkenberry with David Hampton P.Park engineer] http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-dr-funk-podcast/e/episode-21-46494131
A really informative Podcast.
What's lovely is that here we have yet another 1st hand account of someone who actually worked with Prince & can testify as to the impact he had on artists fight for freedom & especially his impact on the black community. I say this because people like BVH on here constantly try to pull him down in this area regardless of the countless 1st hand testimonies from artists who acknowledge his hands on help.
Anyway enjoy. [Edited 10/3/16 10:09am] |

CO-sign because people BVH had no idea about the things Prince was doing behind the scenes |

^ Thats's episode 20.
The one linked above is episode 21. This is the 2ND interview with Dave Hampton. Maybe rename rather than lock the thread.
He talks a lot about the 3121 parties, and tells some awesome and pretty funny stories.
I'd love to know more about Prince's recording. The first interview Dave talks quite a lot about the equipment. I'm curious about the remixes. I'm not sure if Dave was there when Prince was still releasing maxi-singles but, was it common for songs to have several versions/mixes/remixes? Were they all coming from Prince or were some coming from engineers/bandmembers? [Edited 10/3/16 8:17am] |

Interesting details. I like the view on crazy 'fams'. It makes you wonder what questions he's been getting. . |
