So in other words I"m signing this to turn Paisley Park into the MN version of Graceland? no thanks I will pass. If anything I believe that it should be up to his family to determine what should be done with the property.

. That's what his family is supporting: a museum. That's what he wanted and they've stated to the courts that it should be done as such. . Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

"We will turn Paisley Park into a museum in Prince’s memory. ... He was all about the fans," declared Maurice Phillips, who is married to Prince's sister Tyka Nelson, after the star's death on April 21.

Prince's Paisley Park home in Minneapolis is set to be turned into a museum, according to the late musician’s brother-in-law, Maurice Phillips. “We will turn Paisley Park into a museum in Prince’s memory,” Phillips told the Sun. “It would be for the fans. He was all about the fans — this would remember his music, which is his legacy.”

Signed. With the petition being at whitehouse.gov, I thought it would ask me if I was in the US (I am not). But it didn't. So if you're elsewhere in the world and want to sign, don't let the URL stop you. Gimme some horns ... uh!

I've seen historic landmarks and they literally freeze all property in time basically.I dont care about a building, what I care about is what this would mean for his music.

. Pointless nonsense. Anyway, this isn't going to get 100,000 votes by the end of this month. © Bart Van Hemelen

They mean preserving the building as a heritage site along with its fixtures and fittings. The music would not be frozen up as you put it. The music will be released according to how the estate sees fit. Baby, you're a star.

I don't mind signing it if it means that his music will still be ok. That has been my biggest concern since his passing. That being said I have signed it but I cannot say that it is without hestitation! Can anyone 100% guarantee that something like that will not happen to his music? [Edited 8/3/16 6:16am]

. Of course it's nonsense. Want to make it into a national landmark? Nominate it. But first read https://www.nps.gov/nhl/apply/intro.htm and notice how it really has no chance. Unless you believe that Obama will wave a magic wand and "make it so". © Bart Van Hemelen

I would still like to see it used for what it was originally intended : a working studio and production facility, as well as a live performance venue. I would feel better knowing music is still being created and produced at Paisley Park and I think Prince would too. I don't care if part of it is used as a museum. That would be cool. But it would be heartbreaking if no new musical/video creations ever came out of Paisley Park.

. Graceland was designated a "National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmark" in 2006.
So there . Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Exactly! they should only turn maybe a portion of it into a museum and the rest could be used as you stated in your post. Also we know that Prince did a lot of charity for schools in their music and dance programs so couldn't the studio and live performance areas also be used as real hands on experience to help develop and encourage those talents in the younger generations thereby ensuring the Minnesota Sound always has it's home?

Nobody can gurantee anything, we can only hope it will be relaesed. I think the general consensus is that at least SOME music will be released considering the vast quantities of music locked up there. Also, they want to cotinue making money and one way is to release music. Baby, you're a star.
