What Prince songs work best in concert?

People go crazy when they hear 'Take me with you', even though 'The beautiful ones' and 'Purple rain' are more famous.
People sing along to 'Dolphin' even though 'Raspberry beret' has a more melodic chorus
People rock out to 'Peach' even though 'Sign of the times' was a bigger hit
People feel moved by 'Starfish and Coffee' altough 'Nothing compares to you' is one of the most touching songs ever written.
People feel more sentimental when 'When you were mine' is played even though 'Little red corvette' ia an era-defining masterpiece

WHY???

I'm pretty sure that if you decided not to post on here for a day, no harm would come to you as a result.

Better still, if you made it a week, or a month, or even a year, it would more than likely result in people bestowing upon you the general blessing of a decision well made.

I agree. I was just thinking that a lot of Prince songs sound like they're recorded too slow. When he plays them live they sound much better!

for example Slow (no joke intended) Love. I dig the album version but quicker live version is better, in my learned opinion.

Or Muse(no pun intended) 2 the Pharoah is much slower on TRC but I dig it more on the live CD...listening to it right now...also off the subject it sounds like the horns being played in Xenophobia are the same music as on Conan O Brien...I could be wrong cuz I am at work and can't check but it sounds similar...call me crazy...

Yeah I mean I find this to be a total flaw in Prince's music. It actually makes me sick! Take Peach, an average rocker on tape with a laboured vocal delivery but live this song is transformed with screamed lyrics and a total rock out on guitar! In my very esteemable opine.

Excellent example...Peach rocks live!!! but what do you think of the Xenophobia song sounding like Conan O Briens music on his show? Lemme guess you don't watch that show...I don't usually just the beginning then I flip channels...

I live in London and don't have satellite or cable so don't watch American shows unless it's on network and Conan O'Brien isn't on network TV.
