Very cool. I am a metal / hard rock fan have been for years in addition to Prince's music.

Prince is respected for his musicianship, talent and bravery. Thank you for posting this!

I like this one:

And this one: RIP Prince. Rock n Roll Heaven sure is putting together an amazing supergroup. @officiallzzyhale

I read this and pictured Bowie & Freddie doing "Under Pressure" with Prince on Bass...culminating him going off on some insane solo ala "Days of Wild"!

Step 1: Turn off your caps lock. It makes it hard to read your post.

Welcome.

I have always loved how other musicians geeked out over Prince just like we do. He dazzeled everyone. smile I miss him so very much.

I'm glad Gene Simmons changed his tune, but I am still pissed at him.

I love that word when it refers to Prince: "dazzled." How appropriate!

Gene Simmons changed his tune back to the ass clown he usually is. This was his post the day of, he also gushed about prince for almost 10 mins on msnbc or cnn, whichever one it was. Anyway he 'changed his tune' after the fact. It took his family and Paul Stanley's public chastising and apology for his bandmates big mouth and ignorance to get him to apologize for his insensitive comments..... Until he had to go there again a week ago or so during a interview .

Nice to see that. Couldn't get an answer that stayed on topic when I asked what metal/rock bands/musicians of the 80s that Prince might have liked, so at least its nice to see some of those same ppl i mentioned previously who liked and respected Prince.
The article Duff wrote for the Seattle paper was very nice, and that was 5yrs earlier.

Hmmmmm....

I am undecided on this...

When twat made his apology...he referenced the "fabled" JB, MJ, Prince video...

Now sorry for being controversial....

Twat drew attention to this footage....passive aggressive (imo)....and said Prince blew MJ off the stage...

Now I'm hardcore Prince and also objective....

MJ blew Prince off the stage and Prince was clearly coked off his nut.

So twat drew attention to this footage in a "back-handed"...."I stand by what I said - Prince was a druggie"....

Twat was a dick in being insensitive in his interviews....no doubt....

And he slipped in his point....

Peace....x

Gene Simmons is real proud of the fact he doesn't do drugs.

It looked to me like he was using Prince's death as an opportunity to brag about his own sobriety.

Well maybe Gene should do some drugs! He is still living off the few overdubbed songs he sang decades ago.

Clothes, make-up, hairstyles, the name change, and at times very odd behaviour aside, in the musical community - generally speaking - I think Prince was Loved, Admired, Respected & Feared probably more than anyone.

Why feared, because he was sooo fucking good!!

Agreed

Sorry but anyone that thinks Prince was not chemically fond - is delusional.

Clearly at some point he dabbled - and Gene Simmons knew this and kinda backtracked on his earlier statement...

But the drew people to the JB< MJ performance where Prince was off his nut

And MJ knew it to - and that is why he ordered JB to summon him - twas a sordid affair really (powerplays).

4.30mins and then youtube JB, MJ and our beloved Prince (no rose tinted)

Simmons is a gobby twat!

Peace.....x

My brother is a member of English rock band Thunder and they have nothing but respect for Prince and his music especially his guitar playing. My brother wasnt aware of how good his piano work was he saw the "Summertime" soundcheck clip shortly after he died. They have had the pleasure of seeing him in LA whist recording in the same studio and playing the same festival in Germany back in the 90s!

I love how many of the tweets acknowledge how great a guitarist Prince was.

I don't argue with people about my opinions. Scram. I said what I said.

Why the fuck did Prince act the way he did together with MJ and JB on that stage?!?! Was this before or after 1999. Because, if it's after he could just walk up to them and say "I don't have to do shit, I recorded this" and drop the 1999 album on the floor.

The article Duff wrote made me have happy/sad tears while reading. So beautiful to read this and the fact that it was written years back just makes it that much better. All of us here on the Org know just how amazing Prince is/was, and now that he's gone we are hearing SOOOO many people of all types of musical genres coming forth to say how much they loved him - which is wonderful to hear/read - but this article from Duff that was written years ago shows how he truly felt Prince's "magic" for YEARS and how Prince remained a huge inspiration for a big part of his life!!! That's just so beautiful and heartwarming to me. I love love love love seeing all the beautiful love for Prince. Because he was loved so very dearly by so many. And this man, the one and only Prince, with such an amazing beautiful soul who inspired, touched and changed so many people's lives with his music, words and literal being, deserves sooooo much love and appreciation. A musical genius at its best!!! Prince deserves every single bit of the recognition, appreciation and love!!!
