Prince EP - Amazon.com scam

Did anyone else fall for this. I visited Amazon.com and searched on Prince to see if there was any new stuff out, and it came up with Prince EP - Can I. Wow a new Prince EP, four new songs for me to enjoy. There was no picture of the cover and no review, but I looked at the "customers who purchased this title also bought" section and it was full of Prince Cd's recommendation. So I concluded that it must have been the Prince I know and love, so I paid the $9 shipping and recieved the item two weeks later. Low and behold, it wasn't prince at all, it was an artist called "Prince Ep". Amazon must realise that this crap would not sell with any artist info/picture so they omit it. Did any one else make this silly mistake. I couldn't return it either because I am UK and I had to buy it from US.

Yep, I brought that as well, just the same as the Symbollic Beginnings CD, I think I've got the same old songs about three times now because I am gullible when it comes to so called Prince releases.

Could've come here before ordering and easily discovered this wasn't Prince material. Why blame Amazon for listing the actual artist name: Prince EP?

I am not blaming them for the artists name, i think if you read my post proparly you will realise that my complaint is that there was no picture or info about the CD, and that they recommended Prince CD's such as Lovesexy and Sign O The Times to people who had brought the "Prince Ep" CD. Prince had nothing to do with this release so why recommend that I buy Prince CD's if I like Prince Ep. Because they knew that that was the only way to get people to buy it.

It's got nothing to do with Amazon, they deal with too many CD's to worry about it. They didn't 'recommend' other Prince CD's to you "Because they knew that that was the only way to get people to buy it". They just have a database which shows what other people bought that purchased whatever CD you happen to be looking at. And the fact is that a lot of the other people who bought the 'Prince Ep' release obviously mistakenly thought it was by Prince too, because they've bought Prince albums as well. That's all... no conspiracy.

So you don't think not including a picture of the CD and an amazon.com review was deliberate. No one mentioned a conspiracy, i don't think there was a conspiracy against me by amazon. But I do think that they did not include a picture or review deliberately.

I don't think they did anything deliberately. It's quite simple really, There's no picture because it's obviously a small independant release and they get 1,000's of new releases every week, so they're not gonna lose any sleep over not having a picture for it. There's no review for the same reason, in fact I think it's probably the buying public who review things anyway.

It's not like they've listed it as by 'Prince'. When you search Amazon.com for Prince items you get anything else with 'Prince' in the title too anyway, like 'Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves' and 'Prince Buster' etc. Believe me, they're not trying to trick anyone into buying things under false pretences.

If you like!! Any other new releases have pictures, and an amazon.com write up, which they do do, it is the only CD I have seen with no info whatsoever. I take it from your comment that you think I have no common sence. Well Humbug to you then you naughty naught little madonna lover. I fart in your general direction.

it wouldn't have a writeup if it's not out and avaialable for review. nor would it have a picture up if there wasn't one available. get a clue. Amazon.com isn't trying to scam you. hell, Prince albums barely sell. if they were trying to scam people into buying something, they'd use a hotter artist than the 2003 version of Prince to sell some shit by a nobody.

If it wasn't out then how did I manage to buy it and get it delivered to my door within 1 week of ordering. It wasn't a "coming soon" purchase it was an "available now" buy. Why get so offensive anyway, I feel as if it was a scam and have been light hearted and polite about the whole thing. And anyway with a name like "Prince Ep" who else could they pretend it to be or whatever it is they did. They could hardly say it was REM, is name is Prince Ep for gods sake. And the people who bought that also bought Lovesexy, Sign O The Times, Batman etc etc. so I am not the only one who was daft enough to buy it. you need to get a life mate and stop taking things to heart, who are you to tell me to "get a clue" you don't know me and I don't think it's right that you use these forums to cast your opinions about other orgers ie "no common sence" blah de blah de blah.
