How can u just leave me standing...alone in a world that's so cold I think about this line a lot lately. The world just isn't the same without Prince here. It is less fun, less funky, and just so much colder. | |

The lyrics to WDC are some of the best he's written imo. They're like a disturbing love letter, dark and desperate. Blaming his parents for his predicament and recognising that he's alone because of mistakes hes made but at the same time also trying to make the woman who left him feel guilty. Reminding her of how they were and what she left behind. Something as beautiful as a dove broken and crying. I love the imagery.
