Ok so Im on the phone with Sprint due to a technical issue and I gave the tech my email address and its a Prince related address and the tech said "the artist Prince?" and Im like yeah then he said "my mom cried when he died" Nursey had to hold back a tear Truly amazing that so many people loved and miss Prince Any other random goodies?

For a while... I found it difficult to refer to him in past tense. I would catch myself and I'd kinda choke up.

Aww. I mistook the meaning of the thread, but might as well go ahead with my little random P story anyway. It was either the Nude or D&P tour. It's all a blur...loads of gigs, running round clubs & hotels P & the band were at, or rumoured 2 be at. One night I was outside some swanky private club in Kensington. Must of been around 8/10 people there. All of a sudden P walks out, all of 15 feet away! Everyone tried 2 act cool, but the sharp inhales were audible He gets in the backseat of the car. Suddenly a girl ran forward (2 this day I don't know where the hell she came from as my eyes were fixed on him thru the rear window. She ran forward, screamed "I love u Prince!" & threw tons of loose flowers onto him! Where the hell did she get all those loose flowers?! Must of been 1/2 am at least. His security quietly moved her on, shut the door & drove off. All very quick, it's like a dream. I can still see all those flowers [Edited 9/7/16 18:17pm]

It was so surreal V! I had 2 pinch myself! Did that just really happen?! Everyone froze & stopped breathing & then he was gone I went to a approx 25 in total, need 2 count my tickets again, I did a yr or 2 back, it was 20 something. Approx 7/8 each on Nude & D&P tours. Those summers it was crazy. London was purple baby! Non purple peep thought I'd lost the plot going 2 all those gigs I saw The Time, Wendy & Lisa, George Clinton, Public Enemy, Kravitz etc. Met a lot of the (P) band in clubs etc, Saw P in a number of clubs. Sooo exciting. One time I was in the Empire club dancing with a few friends & I looked up & he was above me in the VIP sect, looking down watching us! lots of little memories like that. Funny how band members I had not had a good vibe about turned out not 2 be cool. And the ones I liked were very cool

Damn I got one ticket stub Girl I think he liked looking at you cuz he'd just be there like magic checking you out U were so close I love it that U knew which band members were cool n not so cool Prince fan vibe

Whilst the rest of the band would sign autographs & chat 2 fans, Levi never did, he was the right hand man at the time & like others it went 2 his head. Very arrogant way about him.
Myself & a girlfriend got chatting 2 a girl at a club, she was very upset, telling us about how awful her boyfriend treated her. Nice girl. Next thing Miko appeared & literally ordered her 2 come 2 him. Talked 2 her like a dog.
Tony, like Levi, was arrogant & thought he was the star.

My girlfriend & I gave Rosie a birthday card & had a little chat, complemented her on her beautiful gold & silver Egyptian rings. She was very touched, very down 2 earth & beautiful. When I found out later how lonely she was on those tours & how rough it was 4 her it all made sense.
Everyone else in the band were cool too.

During my 17-19 years I was in nursing school and although I went to P's concerts, I was rushing back to study and never thought about after partying cuz state boards are no joke and I wasn't tryna fail.

My boyfriend and I were engaged and he was P fan, but...I was all about him so no hanging out in the city without him. Ugh

If I had a friend who was also a P fan I might've been more adventurous. Oh, well. I still went to plenty of concerts. I just would've loved to have felt free to have experienced them differently back then.

I thought I had a strike against me (tallness) I had a studio flat, work & college, very little $, God knows how I managed but I somehow did. Least u got 2 the gigs hey, I had 2 go looking 4 other fans. Made a couple of good friends after being a solitary fan the first 4 yrs. Most of the gigs I went 2 alone. Re Rosie, later she spoke on how difficult it was being the only woman in the band. I think the fellas got quite mean at one point & Mavis (lovely Mavis) had Rosie moved 2 her tour bus. Also Rosie was homesick. That day I felt vibes off her that I couldn't quite decipher. ...She wanted 2 hang with the girls...

Well, now we all know that man let no height stand in the way of persuing young pretties. lol

Ahhh, good thing Rosie had Mavis.

I was listening to The Beautiful Ones last night around 2 or 3 am... When he starts screaming toward the end of the songs, Goosebumps came over my upper body, I had to turn it off!

As in past tense. She got married and changed it to JOHNSTON!? What in the world! I would make that man take the name Funk. My goodness.

So of course Prince was the first thought that jumped into my mind. The True Mr. Funk

i've been attending after dark events at a local science museum that from the outside kind of looks like Paisley Park and inside the layout/ design is not quite the same as PP. However, on the first night opening they had a Prince laser show, which was awesome. My only critiques were they only played songs that mostly everyone would know and used laser visual of a elevator during Let's Go Crazy (which felt awkward and not so pleasant).

Also they recently did a David Bowie laser show, while "Heroes" was playing....all i could think about is the P&M version

There is a dance floor with djs playing old school tracks and current (hit & miss). For that moment I tried channeling myself or imagine what it is like to be at a dance party in PP. I bet the atmosphere and PP itself is way more extraordinary than where i was.

I plan to set foot in PP for the very first time next month, I just wish not under these circumstances.
