Don't know but Frank Sinatra reportedly smelled like lavender as well. He was allergic to strong cologne (hated Sammy Davis Jr.'s strong cologne). FS used Yardley's English Lavender hand soap repeatedly during the day..a clean freak like Prince apparently was..

Hmmm...Sounds more like Eau d'Expensive to me.
Eau d'Hadrien by Annick Goutal is a Citrus Aromatic fragrance for women and men. Eau d'Hadrien was launched in 1981. Eau d'Hadrien was created by Annick Goutal and Francis Camail. The fragrance features cypress, grapefruit, lemon, sicilian lemon, citron, mandarin orange, aldehydes and ylang-ylang. This perfume is the winner of award FiFi Award Hall Of Fame 2008.
Eau du Sud starts with strong citrus, heavy on the bergamot and grapefruit. There are light herbal undertones; the mint and basil are noticeable but subdued. As it dries down, it takes on a slight but distinct smoky note — tobacco leaf, maybe? — and farther on, there is a tinge of sweat hovering underneath the verbena and woods. The smoke and sweat are light enough that I find them distinctive rather than repulsive, but many find Sud too harsh, and although it is unisex, it leans more towards masculine than the other Annick Goutal unisex fragrances.

" Prince surprised a photographer filming a Gayngs concert at First Avenue by sidling up beside him: “He smelled so awesome, like lavender and babies.” ".
I remember reading this account. The dude said that he felt someone leaning on him and he thought, " who leans on the cameraman " and when he turned his head, there was Prince. He said he was so surprised that he stayed still, and the next time he looked, he was gone. I never forgot that description - lavender and babies ! Everything you think is true | |
