Probably. But then again, who gives a shit about what you think anyway? Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

. I can't wait to hear the Live Version and the Extended Version. I like the demo version better than the released version. But this song is destined to be a classic. .

didn't he swap the first and second verses? I think in the official it starts with "every Friday night..." in the Demo and in some live versions he starts with "All my partners ask me...." "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Nice. I have this and the 45 w/ the shorter version of Let's Pretend We're Married. If I knew any real Prince fans I would give the 45 away since having the longer version of LPWM renders it useless .

Yeah, I'm familiar.
Is this a Prince trivia question or general music? Hmm, w/o googling, I am not coming up with something for Prince! Need a few...

what's not to love about this song! this is as classic Prince as it gets! I remember getting the 12" of Let's Pretend.. with IB on the back... I believe I was 11 years old...and I hid it from my mother and my older sister (who was a big prince fan too) tried to get me in trouble for listenting to the record! Not sure why I was allowed to keep it...but I remember being blown away by both songs...what a killer record!!

The rap on this song is okay--Prince fiending over a gal who just walks all over, around, and through the guy. The bass groove here is the thing that makes it irresistable to me! Didn't he demo that style for the 1st time on "Cloreen Bacon Skin," jamming with Morris Day on the drums and plucking out a pulse on the strings? OOmpha doom doom--OOmpha doom doom doom! His backtracked vocals laid in the background give the groove an exotic vibe too!

"Turn down the vocals"... always wondered about that faintly heard part at the start. His voice was/is electric.
