Cool Love ~ May 1988 Joey Coco & Sheena Easton
Cool Love is the ninth track on Sheena Easton's ninth album The Lover In Me. Eight months after the album's release, it was included as the b-side on some versions of 101, the album's third single. It was written and produced by Prince (credited as Joey Coco). While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking took place in May 1988 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. Still waiting for the full Prince version of this to leak. I think it's the song that really encapsulates the Lovesexy era in terms of the stereotypical sound. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Is it regarded blasphemy to think this have his best guitar "scream" in a song ever? I know it's only like a few seconds, but man those seconds are just pure bliss to my ears.

"Cool Love" is cool but "101" might indeed be the greatest song he's ever given away.

Sheena and Prince wrote it together supposedly, so he didn't give it away. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

"101" is a great song...it's dark and moody.A very interesting track. But I think "Cool Love" is the one that should have been a single. It's a sexy, infectious song.

It would be cool if Sheena is invited to perform Cool Love, 101 and Eternity at the upcoming memorial.

I needed the Org and the Vault back then. I had stopped listening to Sheena Easton by the time that cd came out. Are these songs really worth my time to look for? Beautiful, Loved and Blessed
Thank You Prince | |

101 SLAYED before 'Slaying' became a thing! And the extended version produced by Prince of Sheena Easton's 101 takes it to another grand level (not to be confused with the other remixes).
