Maybe someday, depending on what they do to it. Definitely if I ever find myself in Minneapolis for a conference or a visit. I'd like to go to First Avenue some day.

I am, I just need to save money and time. Ideally, when I'm in the US, I would also like to visit New York and West Coast as well, but I feel it would ruin me financially razz

It'd be hard to do NYC, the West Coast, and the Midwest in one visit. That's definitely more than one trip, unless you're going to take a month or so to rent a care in NYC and drive to the West Coast. That's a trip of a life time but it takes days even if you don't stop to sightsee. smile

Yes.

I'm planning to head out to Paisley Park from the UK within a year, before the public's interest wanes and the tours close down.

I plan to goes as well sometime early 2017, after Minnesota thaws out. I also believe these tours won;t last. I actually don't believe PP will survive and will eventually be sold.

I believe just the opposite. I think Paisley Park will exceed the success of Graceland, but only if his legions of fans support it. PP is a global treasure and, with proper management, it will be a draw for generations to come. Prince's vault could play a large role in its longevity.

No I saw Paisley Park for the Xenophobia celebration. I have no desire to go back. If I had never seen it before than most likely my awswer would be yes but I have no desire now.

That makes total sense. If I had been to PP while Prince was alive I doubt if I could go now. but since I've never been I think that I can make a trip in the future.

No.

Never bothered to go further than the UK (from NL) to see Prince perform. Now he's dead, I see no reason to go all the way to PP.

It's interesting how many are dooming this to failure before it even opens up. Did people say the same thing about Graceland? Btw, the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area has a population of 3.5M. The population of greater Memphis is about 1.9M. And Chanhassen isn't some tiny city in the middle of nowhere. It's population is 25K, is close to Lake Minnetonka and only 22 miles from Minneapolis and 18 miles from Mall of America & the airport. I know when MOA first opened everyone said that wasn't going to survive either. wink

My question is What are you going to wear????? I'm going with casual I think. I thought about getting a formal gown but then I wouldn't be comfortable. I found a purple blouse with paisleys on it and I bought some fringed ankle boots with zippers on the outside that I'm going to attach love symbols to
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

I guess it's just the wide open spaces. When Dylan played in Groningen (in the north of The Netherlands) in the 90s, he decided to go cycling because the landscape reminded him of the country of his youth.

It was announced this morning that there will be a job fair at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre on Sept 8 & 9 from 9am to 3pm. Experience in the hospitality industry and knowledge of Prince preferred.

Planning? No. But I'm sure I will go at some point. I'd like to know a little more what the tours (reg and VIP) encompass and hear a few reports before I plunk down an admission fee.

Yes, I'm coordinating it with my sister to meet there, she's from Oregon and I'm in Mass. I am hoping they have musical events there. I am very excited, however, it won't matter if it's in October or in 2017..I'm gonna cry!

Yeah, the place that is getting ready to open a 450 room guesthouse on it's property. I think Graceland LLC knows what it's doing even if I'm not all that crazy about it.

At first I was excited for PP to be open to the public, but after further consideration, I realize that I'm not ready. I'm still too heartbroken. I don't think I'm ready to walk around in there.

No.

As much as I appreciate that many fans are going, or want to go, I have no desire to... and that's not just because I live in the U.K. Even if Paisley Park was 10 miles down the road I'd be unlikely to want to visit now that he's no longer there. I have his music and the memories of seeing him perform live, and that's more than enough to keep him with me.

For all that do go, I hope you have the experience you are looking for, and more. biggrin

I definitely do want to go and I went to the Xenophobia Celly back in 2002. But this time, I want to take my children with me. I went alone back in 2002. I would love to share Paisley Park with them. I know it will be bittersweet to be there again, but PP is so beautiful and I just really want to have that experience of being there with them. That being said, that is 3 plane tickets, and 3 VIP tickets that we need to save up for. I don't know when we'll be able to manage the finances to go, but it's definitely on my list of things that we must do.

Yes, definitely. I want to visit in early April, coming from Australia. And there are some cheaper flights available at the moment....but this is my dilemma...do I book flights before tickets to PP become available and assume that I won't miss out....or do I wait? It's a long way to travel if PP is sold out...

You're not alone, Mike. And this says nothing about Prince nor the good intentions of Tyka. It just means that not every Prince fan has a need to visit PP. hug

No. First I'd need to get the €€ for a jet ticket 2 the flag. And once I'd have that, I would have to make it part of a bigger vacation to the US because I sure as hell ain't gonna visit your country just to see Paisley Park and go back. And I'm sorry for all you Americans, but there's more interesting countries in the world to visit than the land of Coca Cola... Right now I'm undecided between Colombia and Ethiopia... So... No way I'm going to spend €€€ on a trip to the land of fat people (once again, sorry, Americans, but that's the image you have in the rest of the world.)

shocked Ignorance is the dark (Night) of the mind.

This is why Prince stayed home.
