The Purple Xperience \ Anyone seen them\opinion

Hi All,

Sorry if this is repeat thread\topic.

A co-worker send me a newspaper ad that The Purple Xperience will be performing 3 nights in the Tampa area at the end of September.

Has anyone been to one of thier shows and did you enjoy it?

I have looked at videos online to check it out and I just can't get into it. I guess I just can't get into other people trying to sing his songs or worse yet trying to look like him.

As a Tampa resident... I'm interested. Never seen them perform... and if anybody ends up going... maybe we can have a meetup.

I saw them in Hartford on July 24th. I had mixed feelings about a tribute band so soon, but Matt "Dr" Fink is the keyboard player and I wanted to see him. The music was really good and it felt good to dance and let some of that out. The lead singer is Marshall Charloff. He's a skilled, multi instrumentalist in his own right and although he was dressed in "princely" way it wasn't over the top or cartoonish. The band was also very accessible after the show, hanging out to talk, sign autographs, or just throw an arm around you for a picture. (For the record, Matt fink feels huggable).

If have to say though, I enjoyed Spike Lee's Brooklyn tribute in June much more. Or maybe enjoy isn't even the right word. It was the spirit of the day--true fans, true catharsis. The people made the difference. if you think Tampa will have that energy, then Purple Xperience might be good for you.
And the MUSIC continues...forever...

I've seen them in concert last year, i thought they were great! It was nice 2 chat with Dr. Fink and the band backstage.

You and me are like two ships passing
Never reaching shore
If we ever, ooh, if we ever did
We'd just want more
