Can someone tell me why it is so hard to find a 2010 cd? Ebay has 50 copies of the Black Album but only a few 2010. Amazon has a few copies. Was this album that good that no one is selling it?

I've heard that the CD was sold through a newspaper in the UK, that's probably why it's so hard to find a copy. The album is really good IMO, some songs remind me of classic Prince albums/songs.

Compassion and Everybody Loves Me - sounds like they came from Controversy

maybe you have to type in "20Ten" in the search engine instead of "2010"

That's true, there was no U.S. distribution. I had to buy copies on Ebay at the time. Prince was supposed to release 2010 Deluxe later on but it never came to fruition. I've always thought the songs on 2010 sounded truncated and that he would release the full versions on 2010 Deluxe.

it was also distributed with a newspaper in belgium and later with a few magazines in europe iirc.

never released in the usa though.

True. It was included with a Belgian newspaper (I forgot which one) on the day he played at Werchter in 2010. Even in Holland, you could buy the paper, but the CD wasn't included. (I tried.)

i'm lucky because i live 10 minutes from the belgian border snapped up about 5 copies of the
newspaper with the cd. i've given my four extra copies away by now. should have maybe hung
on to a couple of them since they were selling well on ebay. but oh well, it would have seemed
wrong to profit off prince's death anyway.

In gerrmany it was included with the german Rolling Stone magazine.

luckily all the ones over $ 15,- have no bids so far. the only ones that seem to have
some people bidding are the ones that go for less than $ 10,-.

they'll probably still go up at the last few minutes but at least it's better than buying
a copy from vultures who are selling them for $ 50.- or up. it was a free give-away ffs.

The best song on it is Futuresoulsong, which is just etheral and a flawless sexualised soul ballad. You feel like you are floating through space with it. Balletic and ethereal. Most of it is good, the two openers Compassion and Beginning Endlessly, a great build up to Future Soul song.

Only Everybody loves me is filler and the rest is decent, I like Lavaux quite a bit and the secret track is Laydown with line "The Purple Yoda" too cool!

Thanks for all the responses. I can honestly say I never thought about 20Ten in the search. I'm trying to complete my cd collection. I tried Tidal but when it came time to pay there was a lot of talk about it being sold, so I stop payment on the subscription.

How much should I pay for this cd?

As for being very hard to find? Ebay was flooded with copies of it in the days and weeks following it's release, not hard to find at all.

Why not? That's the albums title. If you were searching for a copy of 1999 you wouldn't type in 1857 would you?

Why not? That's the albums title. If you were searching for a copy of 1999 you wouldn't type in 1857 would you?

It not the same really. 1857 has nothing to do with 1999, except maybe that they are both a sequence of 4 digits. 20Ten means and sounds exactly the same as 2010. The 'mistake' tish9311 made is easily made. In my humble opinion of course.
