Huffington Post/Charles Ferguson Article on Prince I am sorry - I don't know how to provide a link to this piece. But it is very complimentary but also understandably open about how Prince came to lose his life. It asks for the truth about his death to be revealed. But, in the end, it celebrates everything Prince was and will continue to be. | |

I agree Sasha. Thank you for bringing the article to our attention. I really liked this article. The author was honest in his assessment and I apprechiate that. As much as I love and feel affection for Prince, I always was bothered by how almost "cult-ish" some of his fans acted by being afraid to offer any opinion on him or some of his behavior that wasn't positive. Like you are not a devoted fan if you question some of his decisions. The guy really lays it all out there and finally someone said what some of us have felt. | |

I don't want to get into a discussion on religion or politica but it seems like this guy has certain views and because the JW faith doesn't agree with those views somehow that's wrong. There are plenty of good, decent people that don't believe in evolution and believe marriage is between one man and one woman. And there are good, decent people who don't support every tenant of the faith they follow. I don't see this as bad at all. People can have a go at Larry Graham all they want but the Prince of the 2000s was a much better person and in a much happier place IMO than the Prince of the 1990s. If Larry and/or becoming a JW had anything to do with it then I see that as a good thing. Paisley Park is in your heart

In a nutshell he had pain from working and got hooked on pain meds. It happens to thousands of people in this country. Prince was not perfect but I do not think he deserves the scrutiny he is getting over this. He lost life because he wanted to work. He was not a mass murder. Even if his family let the full autosphy out the media will frame the story they want it. He did not feed into when he was alive so why start now. | |

My issue really isn't so much with Prince being religious, following the bible or Larry Graham (I mean actually I am Christian and think the Bible has valuable lessons) my issue is more with Prince's mentality like "If you aren't for me your against me" and the mindless uber fans who subscribed to it and aggressivley defended him. He exibited this kind of thinking long before he became a JW, so I'm not blaming them really, it is just the prideful additude that he sometimes displayed that I didn't find healthy or helpful, especially for himself. He bansished many people from his world that didn't agree with him, I've read. He really didn't let many people in, but it probably would have been benefical for him if there were people around him who were not afraid of him who would keep it straight with him and tell him like, look you have a problem and are abusing these medications. | |

Do you get to tell your boss how to do their job. No work place is a democracy. Prince received a lot of critism on this board so his fans were not blindly following him.
