I've just been down to the large HMV and Virgin megastore on market street in Manchester, as i walked into both i was greeted with this weeks hottest new releases and a wall full of others inc' white stripes [dont believe the hype!!], Simply Red[ How 2b independent and get promotion and shelf space!!] and many others. You know where this is going dont you. Could i see TRC?, COULD I F*&K, in the Prince section they had a grand total of 4 complete with big sticker 'New Prince Album'. What a crap effort all round, this week he could have got immense publicity for playing Glastonbury and once he did play there he would have got great exposure, this could have been backed with annoucements about TRC being in store now and lots of in store space so that when people walked through the doors there it was. What a waste. If he's done with TRC why even bother putting out, If he's got his money already from selling it ot the stores then where's the pride. As much as i adore the man his marketing truly is aweful and he and TRC deserve much better. There , got that off my chest now time for a cup of tea!.

I must defend The White Stripes! It's hardly their fault the press are drooling over them. They've been doing the same thing for nearly six years now, i mean they've hardly sold out to get exposure. As for TRC, you actually sound disappointed here! I'm past being disappointed when it comes to Prince and promotion. Hes wack lets face it and has no clue how to promote anything.

Prince actualy get more money with his recent releases than with Purple Rain alone! Never 4get that the WORLD IS BIG and Prince sells all around this big world. So if he gets enough money to enjoy life, what the f*** would he do with more and more as he understood for a long time that money is NOT the response to loneliness… Money doon't matter, being in the news doesn't matter. Only love and music counts.
