I thought he was adorable, but I found the interview painful to listen to.

I am actually of the opinion that he was both arrogant and shy at the same time. I know there are contrasting accounts of how Prince was supposedly feeling during this interview. But I think he behaved like a coy little weirdo because he was a bit too nervous to just straight-forwardly answer his questions...especially while dressed in tight metallic pants. LOL>

-- Dez Dickerson said he planned to go out there and give Dick Clark a hard time. He has that smart ass smirk on his face.

I know what Dez stated. And my point is that the choice to be coy and tight-lipped was both an act of rebellion and an attempt to possibly used to mask nervousness. In other words, he still looked nervous despite his attempt to come off cool and defiant.

I love it. Remember seeing it when it originally aired. Prince knew he was a bad mfka already, everybody else was about to get the memo. Already did everything on 2 albums himself at such a young age, so he probably was a bit cocky, and he's always been mischievous. His gold pants are no worse than Andre's clear plastic ones. Lol. Sign of the times .... Disco era and all

I don't believe he was nervous for one minute. The whole idea that he was on the verge of having a break down at any moment is absurd. As calculating and plotting as he was. He had a band meeting saying he was going to be pure sex on stage. -----purplerabbithole said: I know what Dez stated. "On the verge of having a break down at any moment" is not at all what I said or was implying.
Also, I don't give a crap about the fact that he might have been fvcking with CLark. I have seen "Bowling for Columbine". Clark was capable of being a total jerk.

You said he was nevrous which is ridiculous and there plenty of stories about Dick Clark being a jerk so no tears for him. purplerabbithole said: "On the verge of having a break down at any moment" is not at all what I said or was implying.
