LOVE this groove.
Grew on me just like the rest of the album. Are those photos from a live performance? Is there any video from any of the songs on this album other than RocknRoll Loveaffair? [Edited 8/31/16 18:24pm]

The first photo was used as the "cover" when Groovy Potential was originally released in 2013. He's not actually performing the song in those shots. And to answer the question: yes, it's one of my faves from the last few years. [Edited 8/31/16 18:16pm]

I really like it too, with the name fitting the song and the vibe so perfectly. It is one of the essential HnR2 tracks, along with Revelation and Black Muse.

The end vamp sounds so much like his live rendition of Controversy. You'll never know a girl called Nikki and you'll never find Erotic City

Loved it from the first listen. My only problem with it is that by the time Hitnrnun Phase 2 came out I'd played it to death. RIP

Uplifting and joyous vibe to this one. Always gives me goosebumps, and to me it feels related to Song Of The Heart (similar positive vibe but probably because of the horns). Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

That's sort of how I felt when The Gold Experience came out. Back on topic: it's nice but nowhere near "one of the greatest things he's ever done." [Edited 9/1/16 5:05am]

[Edited 8/31/16 18:24pm] The photos are from the Hit & Run concert in Paradiso, Amsterdam in 2013. Made by photographer Andreas Terlaak. They're also published in a Dutch tribute magazine and yes, they're very beautiful. There is more on www.andreasterlaak.nl. [Edited 9/1/16 4:43am]

Very soon before his death I was planning to make a thread about this song... . I think it's an incredible song...For me, it's defintely one of his greatest songs he's done. It has so many amazing dynamics to it.

To go off on a bit of a tangent.... The last set of albums were some of the most creative he had ever produced, imo.
Now, we know they weren't going to get played on the airwaves, cause they don't sound like they were written from someone on the panel of American Idol and they weren't restricted to video game sounding music.
Groovy Potential was fresh and creative, but most of all, it hearkened back to songs like Prince did back in the day... it inspires emotion. I feel this song.
I didn't buy Plectrum when it first came out, I got it some week or so before P died. It may be one of the best albums he has produced bar none. Once again, it isn't going to go mainstream, because none of us really understand how this shiddy music on the air is reigning supreme right now.
So, Groovy Potential is one of his last pearls, truly enjoyable.
I would love to find out there is a mass of music produced in the last couple of years that was finished and not released on album, and this music would be compiled and released. For me, that would be much better than the release of the vault.
We are all so full of here
