Princes clothes In the basketball video Someone posted on Facebook a clip of Prince playing basketball. The video was filmed in black and white and Prince is wearing all white-long bell bottom what look like surgical scrubs, and a baggy white top with the sleeves cut Off. He shoots twice and makes a layup but gets stuffed on the last shot.. I know that Charlie murphys oft told story about the late night basketball challenges protests Prince Wearing his club clothes and high heels... My question is this...has anyone read anything about Prince or in his interviews where he talks about clothing? He was always dressed just so, but when I play basketball I wear shorts and an old tshirt... I guess I'm wondering psychologically why he felt the need to always be dressed just so, as opposed to being seen in I don't know...old faded jeans and a Minnesota Vikings tshirt with holes in it..... | |

It's been stated by others in interviews, Prince wears whatever you've seen Prince in that he would call casual (not normal people's clothes), no jeans or sweats, ever, BUT he will wear sneakers and according to some has quite of few well worn ones. | |

I get that but I wonder why..? Perhaps his childhood? Not having a lot of money growing up without a lot of money and promising himself if I ever become successful, I'm gonna wear The best clothes ...? In an interview I remember Prince said that not long after "Dirty Mind" album time. He was in Minn helping a/some friend/friends move and was dressed in old worn clothes. Some girls were there/helping and one of them said OMG! "girl that's PRINCE!!! To which the other girl said "no way dressed like that?! So he said after that he decided never to go out dressed down etc again.
