Was just listening 2 this track by BrownMark featuring Prince Levi Seacer Jr and Margie Cox

This song sound like something out of Paisley Park and what Prince was doing musically during the Lovesexy/Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic/Batman sessions

Do you think this is a Prince track?

Bang Bang is the first track on Brownmark's second solo album Good Feeling, and, around the time of the album's release, Bang Bang was released as the album's first single. The track was written and produced by Levi Seacer, Jr., and Prince appears only on background vocals.

Specific recording dates are not known, but it is likely that initial tracking took place in Summer 1989, at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA; Prince's background vocals were likely added separately, but this is unconfirmed. No additional credits are given for the remixes included on the single.

I talked with Brownmark himself who confirmed it was a Prince track, along with Shall We Dance. It was Prince's bass guitar in the video, and Prince's stage design (the woman's legs with the skirt for a curtain).

Brownmark didn't know that Prince later used that stage setup for a tour, but said Prince had it in his warehouse at the time. It's amazing to think that Prince not only had awesome music in the vault, but also stage designs for tours.

P.S. Brownmark is a totally cool, down to earth dude when I met him and was very open in talking about Prince stories.

"shall we dance" is such a cool song too

i do hope that one day in the future we get something like a 4 disc set of all the songs prince
wrote for others, with his own vocals on them.

His second record was cool and all, but his first solo album, Just Like That was just great. Well written songs, great production. The guy learned a lot from his old boss. However, his boss' name was glaringly missing from the liner notes. I guess he got over it by the time he needed a couple of tunes for Good Feeling.

Cool... I never listened to it either after all these years. Sounds like that whole Batman era electronic loop groove vibe.

Unfortunately I can't find my 12 inch vinyl... after all its about 26-27 years ago hen I bought it.. but damn a little frustrating..

what I was a little surprised about back in 1989:

His name was not spelled "Brown Mark" like on the "1999" album.

It was spelled in 1 word "Brownmark"
