Would you pay $100 right now to get a Prince cover of Kate Bush's THIS WOMAN'S WORK??? Man, how awesome would that be??
Yeah, I know Maxwell did a super Princely version of it but I really do think Prince could have MADE IT HIS OWN... |

Nope. I'd love to hear him do it, but this girl ain't paying that kinda money for NOBODY, not even Prince. He ain't that cute! That shit better come with about 40 extra tracks and ten earrings or Prince on my door playing it live!
(He can leave that pimpfinger at home tho. ) I imagine myself inside your bedroom; oh, I imagine myself in your sky.

First, not everyone needs to cover that song. Second, Maxwell did his version of it, not a Princely version. Maxwell has had the longevity that he has not because he's copying Prince, but because he's being himself. His, and Hod David's aural aesthetic are totally different than Prince's production.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

I saw Maxwell in June and instead of trying to sing a one of Prince's songs he played Prince's version of Kiss while the band was coming out. I thought it was a lovely and appropriate tribute. Vous etes tres belle, mama, girls and boys 💋 |

Actually, Max did a faithful version of Kate's song. |

I meant to add to my post that Maxwell actually did two versions of "This Woman's Work". One was on Unplugged, which is one of my favorite live CDs ever, and then a studio version later on Now.

I saw Maxwell two nights ago in Melbourne. Not only did they play Kiss at the begining, he also covered Adore and Do Me Baby. And it was worthy of Prince's standards. Also, Prince's image appeared on screen when Maxwell sang Woman's Work.
No one ever needs to cover that song again. [Edited 8/25/16 23:49pm] Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain. |

Maybe Prince's estate can construct a Michael Jackson/ Cascio situation? Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain. |
