She's a Peach

I have been listening to this song on one of Prince's CDs. Prince is definitely the one playing the guitar. But, do any of you know who is singing. It doesn't sound like Prince to me.

Yes, it's Prince. He did have a lower register, you know.

Other songs where you will hear it:

Daddy Pop

Diamonds and Pearls

Still Would Stand All Time

Damn U

Solo

Gett Off

Girls and Boys

How is this a real question? Are you trolling? To be correct, he played three guitars for the solos. And maybe you're new to the world of Prince, but he certainly had a lower register in his voice, as others have mentioned here.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Heard it was George Michael on vocals and Andrew Ridgeley on guitar.

I knew this was the place to ask... Thanks for the response. I love the song! I realize Prince had a very broad vocal range, but it definitely sounded a little different to me... but awesome!

C'mon y'all, as long as I've been a fan, there's stuff I don't know.

Don't be like that.

Even a new fan is still a fan.

They're just trying to learn about P like we all did.

Play nice, no?

My advice to you is to start from the beginning, read, listen and learn about Prince..There is a lot out there about his career. Come here too, we are all students of Prince. Hopefully you may have figured it out but, Prince was known for writing, producing, arraigning and playing all the instruments and singing all the vocals on his albums, plus writing a mentoring others. Not to mention, his live stuff, which for some, was life changing. He was really a phenomenon, and it is an enormous loss that he has passed on so suddenly, so young and so wrong. We will be listening, studying and loving him and his music for generations. Be careful though, he can be intoxicating and you might get cast under the Prince spell..I did!

Yes. That's exactly what I'm doing now. I just wish I could have started the "addiction" before he passed. I always enjoyed his music. But... I'm now completely infatuated with him.

yeahthat There are all levels of P fans on here. For years I thought I was a super fan until I got on here and learned so much more and realized I knew nothing compared to some! I think it's wonderful that there are so many new fans or old one's learning new stuff about Prince. I think it should be embraced. We are all family on here in my opinion. Unless someone is truly trolling and being negative, I think we give each person old or new the answers without making them feel bad.

And I happen to LOVE his lower range songs. And Peach is in my top 5 songs of all time. I've always loved it! headbang

They were on stage at the same time. Both Prince and MJ (separately/coincidentally) attended a James Brown concert. Word got to James that MJ was in the house so JB called him on stage. And then MJ whispered to JB that Prince was also in the house, and then JB called HIM on the stage, and says you must play something but a Prince ends up looking pretty overwhelmed/emotional (imo, he is on stage with one of his musical influences after all) and ends up leaving the stage - and accidentally knocking over the stage prop lamp post. sad Poor guy. Can't imagine how he was feeling after the entireo ordeal.

I dont get why people say he made a "fool" of himself in this.. other than grabbing the light post thinking it was fixed and its a prop that falls over.. I think he out did MJ.. ok he didnt sell.. but was hell sexier and like, I'm here! he out did MJ there..
