what songs by Prince could have been a hit if the radio played them Since Prince death (man!)there's been an assortment of unreleased material and i couldn't help but wonder what could of been a hit if radio played some of them. Also songs that has been released but didn't get the air play it deserved.

hard to say, people will buy some goddawful shit if it's pushed down their throats so probably just about anything he ever did if it was marketed right.

I'm sure lots of classic music was popular because it was great but I'm also sure lots of hits came about just by people following trends. People have followed some stupid ass trends over the years, I remember when i was a kid, pet rocks was huge for a little while, that shows you how stupid the buying public is.

More recently: RNR Love Affair & FunkNRoll - boggles my mind how those were not promoted properly, but then, it just validates what Prince always said about WB not promoting him the same as other artists. Those would have bit hits if they got into circulation. Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

DEFINITELY Another Love - quite unfortunate that they did NOT get the radio play and promotion, because I feel like that, along with RNR Love Affair and FUNKNROLL, they could have drawn new listeners. Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

Let's not forget "like a Mack". Definitely agree with r&r love affair. I'm still obsessed with that song. "Mars" is also a good song. Too bad it's too short. "Stare" is also pretty awesome. "Hardrocklover".... "Screwdriver"... He knew he was gold. He also knew that folks who really appreciate music, dig a little deeper to find stuff they like. They aren't interested in the bubblegum pop that is over played on the radio. He also knew that folks who appreciated his art already knew of these songs.

If you guys haven't heard "given em what they love" by janelle monae feat. Prince, I suggest you check it out. Phenomenal, in my opinion. I also hear a lot of Prince influence in "Q.U.E.E.N." By janelle monae. Love both of those hits!
