Prince Motherless child

Just watched a Prince performance on Y**tube (don't worry - not posting the link)

Prince - Motherless Child - Live!

It blew me away - all his stuff does anyway, but this was unreal & new to me. Had me in tears 7mins in when he started doing his dancing arm movement thing - this always used to make me feel connected to him at concerts, as I would always do it back (Best I could anyway). Did anyone see him sing this live?

Motherless Child is very good, the rest of the show is not so good imo.

Yeah,

That is a good one for Prince non-fans to see.

It makes them Prince curious.

He played Motherless Child at the first Piano And A Microphone show at Paisley Park. It was quite different than the version you speak of, but great nonetheless.

Was this the clip where his neck was all red from that strange sweater he was wearing? Sorry, once you notice something like that, you can't look away from it anymore!

The YT comments are overwhelmingly positive too on that performance. Quite right.

I love that sweater! But yeah, he did look overheated in it. Love that song, too! I'd never heard him wail the blues like that before. The first time I heard it, I got goosebumps. I play yt thru my stereo when no one is home and try to blow the roof off my house. Almost there! headbang
And the MUSIC continues...forever...

This performance is riveting, it's almost like he's in a trance. It has to hit him hard considering this own history with his mother. I show it to people who think Prince only did Purple Rain. A must see!

..Hello, who is it?
Yes, this is a prettyman, Princey!

That was a good song. yeah he had issues with his mother and ( his stepfather) i believed and he poured all what he got in that song about his mother. That Prince taught us is to look into his music and art for his true feelings.

I think this whole mini concert is great! But htis cover is the stand out. Plus I recognize one person that got on stage at the end from my gang of international roommates at the last celebration "Xenophobia".

P's take on Motherless Child is the best imo. The rest of the show is okay but not very special. But this song makes up for the rest of that show. It blew me away when I heard it. P at his best.

One of my favourite televised performances. Right up there.

It's interesting, because this was arguably his most uninspired period creatively, but live... just on a whole different level.
