My guess is Arms of Orion.

I think that's right. But it's from a weird spot in the song--like the "sea of tranquility" bit, or something.

Nah, not really. He's whistling the chorus.

Thank God for Albert Magnoli's brilliant direction that made "Partyman" and "Batdance" the two greatest Prince videos of all time.
I wondered if it was mostly nostalgia that had me feeling such joy in these videos over the years, having such fond memories of my 14-year-old self diggiing them so much on MTV.
But no, every time I revisit them I am reminded of their genius - a true glimpse into what a "Batman" movie starring Prince (as Gemini, or maybe even multiple characters - would've loved a Batman movie in which Prince took on the roles of Batman/Bruce, Joker, AND Gemini) might've been like.
I recently saw Tim Burton's "Batman" on a giant screen in one of the nicest movie theaters in my area - first time seeing it on the big screen since 1989 (though I've watched it many times on VHS, LD, DVD, and Blu-ray over the years).
Great to hear Prince's music over a theater sound system. I remember how thoroughly disappointed I was the very first time I saw "Batman" and realized how realitively little of Prince's soundtrack album was prominently featured. It actually made it hard for me to appreciate the brilliance of Burton's achievement for a LONG time (now I feel that it is still the best big screen "Batman" - yes, above all the Nolan ones which I consider absurdly overrated, with the exception of 'Begins'). I felt cheated! I wanted to hear ALL the songs as part of the movie - but I do think it's awesome that the great Danny Elfman incorprated the melody of "Scandalous" into his iconic score for the Bruce/Vicki love theme.
As for Prince whistling "The Arms of Orion" at the start of the "Partyman" video - I love that bit. I SO wish there had been a video made for "Orion" - a minor hit that deserved to be a MAJOR hit. (And a song that should've been utilized in the movie.)

Still burns me up that only the short version of this video is on the Batman blu-ray.

'(I've been) searching for love in the Sea of Tranquility' i believe is the exact line he whistles... This is what it's like in the dream factory...

Question about the Partyman video...there's a scene where he gives a monkey a banana. When the monkey peels the banana, it says "Psyche". Was having a monkey in the video a reference to Michael Jackson and Bubbles?

Yup, Arms Of Orion. The video is great. Better than the movie 'Liberate My Mind'
