Having said that.. I still have to learn Urdu, my wife's language. Can't find a good instructor. (So I'm stuck with only 4 languages)

Just speaking for myself, personally. I have to disagree with you. If my husband's native tongue was different than mine-- there would be very much need...for me...to learn it. So we could communicate with each other-- on all levels.

It can certainly be useful if your partner's family doesn't speak English, but if your partner does speak English fluently there isn't a need per se--although it's beautiful to make that effort to try and learn his/her language

An acquaintance of mine acted as his interpreter when P was in Spain, and no, P did not speak Spansh.

Prince has done interviews in many countries. He always spoke English. If he spoke French and the interview was for a French audience then why would he speak English? He wouldn't.
