I have been very happy to see the lack of interest by the media (the exception being Star Tribune) in Prince’s death dissipate over the last few months. Over the last 20 years I felt Iike I was in a secret club due to bootlegs, after shows, and the Org community. I felt like he was ours and either you get it or you don’t but he was ours. I have had mixed feelings about the proliferation of YOUTUBE videos because I know his estate is not getting one penny of the money off the advertising on those sites. I know some people are just fans who want to share and I know the secret club ended the day he died. I wish we could have kept some stuff to just to the Purple Army/Org Community.

I will note that if you go to Facebook and YouTube you will find comments from people who are astounded by the vast amount of music and his talent. I wish these people would have been aware of this when he was around and if there is one thing we can take out of his passing is appreciating people when they are around and not allowing the music industry to dictate what is good music and who should be popular.

For me, he was off my radar for over 30 years. Really. I would catch him on TV from time to time, but that was it. I saw him in concert - the first and only time - in December 2013. It wasn't a great show - very little Prince involved, actually. But: seeing him on YouTube since his death has shown me what his concerts were actually like, how truly extraordinary he was. If he was still alive, most of those videos wouldn't be available. There has to be a huge social media push to make sure he is not forgot. DJs across the world have to play his music at clubs and other venues. Young people have to hear him! The man was a class act, and he has to be presented as such.

What show was that in December of 2013. I have been going back and watching his concerts from 2007 on and I am up to 2010 and so far he has not missed a step. I am trying to still trying wrap my mind around someone using pain meds and getting around so well.

I think the only shows in December of 2013 were at the Mohegan Sun in New Jersey, which I recall did not get very good reviews.

I was at all 3 mohegan shows, plus the aftershow at mohegan that went till 4am+, unfortunately he never got on stage, instead there was a complete set from Liv Tyler and then an extended Doug E Fresh DJ session. The aftershow was advertised that he would perform, his instruments were out, the setlist was on the screen, but to this day, nobody knows why he never played. Perhaps it was too late, perhaps he just didnt feel like playing. He did refund everyone though which was cool. All in all, a very memorable 3 days.

The main shows were amazing (to me), all 3 nights were very different.
