Okay lets look at this :
"The newspaper questioned whether some of the documents in the divorce file would shed light on why he was taking painkillers, any potential heirs, or the value of his estate at the time of their divorce". Source - Star Tribune. 1. The only idea around here ( the org) was that the Star Tribune was trying to resurrect the idea that Prince was an addict . Question.... Why do they ( Star Tribune) want to find out if they are any potential heirs ? ( Bremer- Tyka) is already doing that. Lastly, why would they want to know the value of his estate at the time of their divorce? This is very pin pointed information that is being requested which is separate from anything to do with a history of drugs/ his accidental overdose. What would that information prove/disprove? That she had access to any of his money? Here is the next important statement by the judge: "Fraser wrote that although the public's right to inspect civil court filings is not absolute, Testolini failed to overcome the presumption of openness based on her fears that the 10-year-old paperwork would expose her to ridicule or threats" . Source Star Tribune.
2. What sort of information could expose her to ridicule and threats? That she caused his death? ( This is stupid). Perhaps that he sired another child out of wedlock? Really? It's been 9 years! Who would ridicule you about that? We ( the public) don't care. Its not about her. I want you to remember that please.
The judge goes on to say : "Ms. Testolini states that the sealed files have nothing to do with Mr. Nelson's death and its subsequent legal issues. If that proves to be true, information disclosed is unlikely to subject her to a higher level of unwanted public attention than she has already received," Fraser wrote. "Her marriage to Mr. [Prince Rogers] Nelson put her in the public eye; this is true regardless of information in the sealed documents." 3. Yes, Manuela, there is nothing there that ties you to his death and subsequent legal issues. Imagine that. She said so herself. But what about the cash? Will you be ridiculed for that? The crickets.... The judges statements ends : "Star Tribune correctly states that this case is unique only in that it involves an international celebrity, and that it would be unfair to grant special privacy rights based solely on this. The presumption of public access to court files outweighs individual wishes for privacy," Fraser wrote. I still can't think of why a newspaper would want to know what his assets were right after his divorce to her? Don't you think that is an odd and very pin pointed request? I can agree that they may want to know if she revealed anything about drug use to prove/disprove the running theory, but please explain to me this request about his financial wherewithal at the time of their divorce. This is a very specific period of time. Someone , somwehere, is suspicious. Remember, Bremer (Tyka) may not want/need information about his death /pain killer usage to be made public ( hence the appeal) but you are going to have to convince me that they would not want to know what happened after she left him. Someone is very much in the spotlight. I still think this is a way to flush information out of her that would not otherwise be made public. I believe Bremer(Tyka) is operating in a very clandestine role which may be separate from the Tribune's motives.. There is no other way they would have been able to get the financial documents. That request though..... how odd. My two centavos.

That was the first piece of paperwork filed in Probate Court. Someone had to request the Court to set up an Estate for P. So Tyka petitioned the Court to set up P's Estate. Then Tyka asked the Court to appoint Bremer as the Special Administrator of the Estate as she would be unable to administrate his huge Estate. Tyka hasnt even been named an heir yet.

All I know is this: Colonel Klink and Starsky and Hutch are involved in the investigation, and the ex-wife attached as an Exhibit comments made on Prince.org about how she was harassed after the divorce. [Edited 8/16/16 19:04pm]

^ did she mention her prior history as a fan who posted on just such message boards, establishing herself as part of the online presence she claims to have been harassed by?? just wondering

Well the Judge did point out "It notes that if Ms. Testolini desired to stay out of the public eye, she should not have provided pictures of her children to US Magazine." Ouch! [Edited 8/16/16 19:08pm]

So the court allowed and accepted her petition not knowing if she was Prince's heir/ relative/ sister? So anyone could have done this? Is that it? I should have signed up.

Hoist on her own petard. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
