You don't start from zero and graduate to fentynal overnight. Don't kid yourselves thinking this was an isolated incident.Based off pictures, there was clearly something going on with him over the last two years that can't be explained away with he is getting old. During the mid 90s, there were periods where you could clearly see he wasn't healthy and it appeared to be drug related. This is someone who if he didn't want to be seen , he could go underground and no one would think anything. I can easily see how he could have been a long time undercover user. Btw, there are many successful people who get high all the time. They know how to do it right

Also, in hindsight, when prince through parties ad would appear only for 2 minutes and dissappear or change his mind and not play etc is classic dope fiend behavior. We wrote it off as him being, difficult, recalcitrant etc. It good have been he was just faded. Anyone else acted like that drugs would have been mentioned immediately

He was not hiding in the basement. We all know what he died from no one is saying that is not true. We are saying he may have had other health issues. I will never believe in a million years that got started on this stuff for grins and giggles. I will never-believe he was using this stuff for 30 years and never missed a beat. I believe he had joint pain and may have been on legitimate pain mgmt and things went sideways. I am not going to list reasons because they have been lined out 200 times in a logical manner. I am sure when the Estate is settled we are going to find out more.

Dope, fly, has weight on him , face glowing et . Fast forward a year or two later of him getting off plane in St barts. Nothing else needs to be said. Doesn't appear to be same person. Yup that's exactly my reading as well, thanks for pointing out that it could have been a mutation which was not inherited, although yes, as you suggest, the circumstantial evidence seems to point against it. Man, I hate the fact he would have really hated this. And also, hello Genesia, it's Jane from popmatters (the missing him got too much, so I decided to come and hang out )

People say, he was anti drug and his lyrics etc suggest that, true. There are also many preachers through the course of history who have a great disdain for gays yet when the door closes they are fellating the neighborhood kid

Do anyone see him using drugs in the 90s??? Was he arrested and I missed it? We have no way of knowing. I know he was rail thin, wearing ugly clothes and possibly commiting carreer suicide with the symbol business but he seemed snap out it quickly. This guy showed the public the image he wanted to show for whatever project he was working on at the time per Alan Leeds. I have always believed he had health issues and I always believed some of it was mental. I kind of thought he got on the right kind of meds after 96 and even better ones in the early 2000s.

He is saying what dozens of other people who interacted with Prince on a day to day basis.
No way was he completly wacked out. It is obvious he was trying to beat it and it got to him.

Of course he did not do drugs in the 90's, and probably not in the 21st century either. We are talking about a guy who stayed away from cell phones because he felt the radiation they emitted was harmful (from one of his tweets last year), had an extremely healthy strict diet, etc. There is no indication of drug use in the 90's anywhere.

thanks Genesia. i was going by a convo i had about 10yrs ago. i guy i met i grad school was also in grad school mapping human dna. we had many long discussions about birth defects ..... he told about the mutation thing not the other stuff. not his focus of study i guess. he also said that if the mutation presents as Pfieffer than it comes from the dad; if the mutation comes from the mom it presents as "laughing clown syndrome"- like colin farrell's son. so yeah it was P's thing.
