Fascinating Article:Was-Prince-Acquired-Musical-Savant?

That's a long read, but it is interesting how it compares Prince to some other musicians that he is not usually compared to. It reminds me of something I read that Goethe said (which goes from German to Dutch to English, so something may be lost in translation, but here we go: "There are only wonder children (is that the correct term?)in two fields: music and maths, because they are abstract. They require a certain structure of the mind, that one can be born with. Other forms of art, such as literature, also require life experience, which can only be gained with years." What makes Prince extra amazing (and sets him apart from the others in the article) is that he also had a talent for writing lyrics, but overall, I think Goethe was right. I feel Prince songwriting didn't really develop in his later years due to him living in a Paisley music bubble, but maybe the article is right and there was just no other way for him than to live in that bubble.
