Prince's performances

No one could do it like our boy!

I watched him at the Brit Awards back in 2006 and at the NAACP's in 2005. He had the crowds going crazy.

At the NAACP's, Prince had Morris Day and Jerome on for a song. P played several different instruments. At the Brit Awards, he had Lisa and Wendy and some thick chick on drums along with Sheila E. With P, it was always entertaining and fun. You could tell he really enjoyed performing, and people enjoyed the experience that he gave. I'm just pissed at the fact that I'll never get to see him again. The last I saw him was probably about 13 years ago.

Damn.

He loved performing! I saw him back in 2011.it was during the encore or after show He kept saying "goodnight" and "we got to go y'all" but he ended up going back and forth on the stage for a good 20 minutes biggrin

Same thought here. Last time I saw him live was during the Diamonds & Pearls tour in the MECC in the south of the Netherlands. Way too long ago. I could hit myself for not going to see him after that date. But having three young children back then prevented me from going.
Prince was a master performer. He proved that again and again. I'm trying to teach my kids the genius of Prince but just yesterday I showed them my dvd of Dortmund '88 and when my oldest daughter watched him do the PR solo she just started laughing. She ain't ready for Prince yet.

And you're so right: I too hate the fact I won't ever see him again. Damn!

I remember that show in the MECC in Maastricht. During the opening song Thunder, he always called out the name of the town or country that he was in, so I expected him to shout: "Holland!", but no no no, he opened the show with shouting:"Maastriht!" I have to give this American props for at least trying to pronounce the name of the city. The show itself wasn't one of his best, although he did play Call the Law. I hooked up with a girl afterwards, but nothing came of it. Still, it was a pretty beautiful night. Ahhh, memories....

Yup! I got the proof on cd cool
And you're right: I've seen him do better performances. From the times I've seen him live this was the least. Although far better still than most performances of any other artist. I guess I was seated too far away from the stage during that one.

Yeah, but the difference is that I've seen him do better after this one. I've known people who dumped their kids at grandpa & grandma just to see a Prince gig. wink

Never missed his early 80s concerts, then didn't get to see him again until musicology in 04. Sadly never saw him again and never will now. Im so thankful for all the YouTube footage. I know how felt about that life but I hope he can see how much it means to all who miss him so greatly. This is all we have left.

That's right and that's why I'm playing his live dvd's over and over again lately. More than before.
