He died from a Gatrointestinal disorder and he had mental health issues. This information is in the court docs concerning his daughter and granddaughter.

ya, i kept looking for a cause of death, never was able to see one. Few weeks after he passed, everyone forgot about him.

oh, thanks, how did you find that? i couldn't find a thing. Duane was the "handsome and tall" brother who prince immortalized on something in the water. didn't know about mental issues, i do know that Prince fired him for some reason or another, probably being too crazy as a security guard.

-- If you look at the courts docs from his daughter and grand daughter they provide an explanation of how close Duane was to Nelson family. They mention that they became ill and a recluse. The mental problems are also mentioned. If you look Duane up on the case file section of the Carver County website you can see his arrest record. I also rember the stories in the media about him back in the 90s. He caused Prince much embarrassment and grief. I suspect that is the reason he was fired and disowned.

what kind of mental problems? He couldn't have embarrassed him too much, i'd never heard of his brother before he died. After he died, all I heard was that he was fired for being too aggressive as a security guard, a problem which a lot of security guys have.

This is the late 70's. And for us Black Folks at that time they didn't look mf ridiculous! I asssume you are of a different race. I think that's why Prince went back to the fro his last few years, Part of it I think was saying f people who think they need to tell me how to wear my hair or a afro looks to Black!

i don't give a fuck, drive a car with your feet if you want to, i don't give a fuck. My stepdad was black, he had an afro, most of the time he didn't even comb it out,shit was a mess, so i know all about the afros. All I'm saying is, I don't remember them being that big and ridiculous. wear your hair like you want to, i don't care.
