Wasn't there a rumour a few years back that the BBC Archives may have contained never before seen videos?

I would like to thank Bart for his illuminating posts, therefore making it unnecessary for anyone to use the "Search" function and read other threads.

Good job, Bart!

There is no way that Prince leaked anything.

Which member of The Revolution was meant to have sold tapes?

I don't think any revolution member leaked or sold anything. And I don't think Prince himself leaked anything. If you look at the tons of material that leaked in the 80s, often in such poor quality, there is no way that anyone from the PP entourage or P would be behind these tracks.

I think thru Prince's carelessness in the early years, his actions inadvertently lead to some tracks being on the bootleg market. I do not think he intended or had direct leaks straight to bootleggers.

I do believe the whole BA cancellation did hype Prince's myth on unreleased music. Also the demand. I know it was a pivotal time for me and I wanted more of the unreleased stuff.

Always thought people working at PP were responsible - sure someone who worked there revealed recently that there really were thieves in the temple.

BA was intended, not accidental imo. Just to create the hype. Never proved, but I'm pretty sure it was.

If you care about this subject, why not use this site's search (top right of your screen) and enter the words "prince leaks bootlegs" and read the kazillion already existing threads. Short answer: no he didn't. If you need more explanation: search & read.

Fine Bart (I can't be arsed right now to read it - will do tho)

If he didn't tho - then he certainly supported boots with the LS tour and the BA album

Either way - he was complicit.

complicit..sounds right

No, this is bullshit you invented; there's zero evidence to corroborate this and a fuckton that disproves it. But you rather believe your own invented fairytales than acknowledge the facts.

The lack in sound quality is because material was watered down before it was sold to bootleggers. "Elite" collectors often have pristine versions, hence T leaking a crystal clear excerpt of the "Hallway Speech" (as used in Liberation's "Frankensteined" reconstruction of "Computer Blue"). Such leaks are sometimes tagged (to determine who is leaking what) or are edited (e.g. left and right channel switched).

.

If you'd know anything about Prince boots, none of that should be a mystery.

I'm 100% with Bart on that one (leaks in general and TBA in particular). So are just EVERY past Prince collaborator ever interviewed about the topic BTW. And so says every research/biography ever published so far. I wish people would just stop making-up BS and trying to force their fantasies unto reality sad

Every time this topic has new posts, I wishfully think that there may be some new leaks...
