Police I don't buy it.
I'm really skeptical of everyone saying "you know he wrote this song for me" now that he's gone. I herad LRC was about Vanity. Maybe it wasn't, but I'm not gonna believe all these women coming out of the wood works now writing books after all these years. Sorry... [Edited 7/18/16 5:21am]

It was an interesting interview I know at the end that she mentions that he did the song and mixed it with Dirty Mind during his lastest concerts, and didn't mention that during the Melbourne show that he had dedicated it to Vanity. For the longest time the majority of people believe that that those songs were about Vanity and I wonder if Mi Lingstone she ever met her, as she was saying in the interview that she knew all the people eg. Jimmy Jam etc that were in Prince's life. She seems really nice and I will look out for that book when it comes out given her background in the biz. I just hope she is not jumping on the "Prince wrote this song about me bandwagon." [Edited 7/17/16 23:20pm] [Edited 7/17/16 23:28pm] [Edited 7/17/16 23:29pm] Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

From what I've read/heard over the years and especially those Piano & Microphone shows where he either dedicated LRC to her or made reference to her during the song. Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

So I don't think she met Denise. Seems Sexy Dancer may have been written about her too. Ha.

sounds believable and she sounds honest. there was some other woman named Bebe or something who tried to say he wrote it about her.

She sounds genuine. What is kind of wild is she said she just left town without telling him. Think about the thread that weaves through his life about abandonment.
She was 16 in 1976 and he waited to ask her out until she was 18. Then she was with her husband in 2004 at one of Prince's concerts and when he saw her (she had a sign) in the audience he was according to her interview, "visibly shaken" and he "shredded his guitar" in a macho "rooster" display. wow.
Book should be interesting description of his early days. Mi-Ling Stone Poole. All these segment stories begin to frame his legacy. I sure wish he'd have written his own autobiography and done the leg work as he wanted it to be known..
Does the writer he worked with have enough to even begin? The Beautiful Ones? "Hold on to your souls y'all. We got a long way to go. Thank you! We love y'all!"

why do these people always come out after someone's gone? why didn't she say this when he was alive? anyone around that scene at the time can say anything and some will believe it.

I think she sounds really genuine too. She speaks about 'finding out' that the song was about her and says that one of his very close friends told her. She says she was not happy to find out it was about her. She also talks about the details in the song being several of their times together but other things being made up. The story she tells at the end about attending the concert is verified by the guy interviewing her who says he has seen the video! So I think this really does sound legit and check out on many levels.
Yes Prince dedicated the song to Vanity/Denise in Melb shows. That doesn't invalidate what this woman is saying though - dedicating a song to someone doesn't mean it was literally insprired by or written about them.

I had heard recently that LRC wasn't written about Denise after all. People think that because it came out earlier in his career and Denise was a more visible partner of his from earlier days, and because she had gotten into drug use. Prince only dedicated the song to her during one of his Atlanta shows - the night she died.

He got around and women are going to talk as long as they are not saying anything bad what is the big deal. Whoa whoa whoa See, here's the thing...I sighed. Period. Did a simple sigh make it "a big deal"? I sigh. Could've been that I was thinking about being 15 in 1976 and so in love with my boyfriend here in NY. Could've been that I was thinking I hadn't even heard of Prince yet. Could've been that I was thinking that it's odd how life happens. Could've been a lot of things. Or maybe none of those things. I sighed. And?
