Remember this? Am I the only one who wishes the Joffrey Ballet would re-release this? I remember seeing this and loving it so much. It was pretty awesome to see ballet set to Prince music. I ordinarily can't sit through ballet because I'm not a classical music fan, but this was something I loved, because I always wondered what that would look like.

I have it on Laserdisc.

I went with some friends. Loved the idea, but the show was kinda boring (some asshole booed at one point, I felt bad - it wasn't THAT damn boring ). I think ballet is a bit reserved for the bulk of his catalogue. Would love to see a modern dance troupe attempt his music, might be more fitting.

Not gonna lie, I DID hate the Purple Rain part. I'm like, why enact a child having a tantrum for this?

And yeah, you're right, it did seem a little reserved for the most part, tho.

And man am I jealous of the laserdisc owner! Too bad they never put this on dvd, or have it as a download. Because I'd still buy it, mostly because I really like the second half of it. Melt With U was actually pretty awesome.
