In the late-1990s and early-2000s, if you wanted to refer Prince fans to some decent information that debunked a lot of the nonsensical rumors, one of the prime destinations would be "DMSR: AN ONLINE ARCHIVE OF PRINCE HISTORY". That site dates back to 1996 and it's obvious that some of its information is outdated and incomplete (that was true even back then), but it had plenty of good information.

It took me a while to remember its URL, but some searching through Google's archive of alt.music.prince with some relevant keywords uncovered it. And as luck would have it, the Wayback Machine did crawl the site back then! It seems to have ceased to exist somewhere in 2005 (and hadn't been updated in years by then), but looking at it now is just fantastic:

I vaguely remember that there were some "hidden" pages, but that might be a faulty recollection considering the archived website as shown there is much larger than it was in my memory. I'm sure some old-timers here will recognise the site.
