It was originally because I was curious to see if there was a noticeable difference between the songs that the women like and the songs that the men like.

I was looking for patterns.

I am a woman and I know what I like so I am really more interested in finding out which song appeal to men.

And I am even more curious about which songs appeal straight men vs. gay men, but when I tried to ask that question directly, well um ........ anyway,

I should probably stop asking that question if it makes people uncomfortable, because I'm not really here to conduct a sociological survey.

I am here to learn from and have fun with people who share my interest in Prince.

Let me answer in a different way. Take out the segues and story lines, and ditch "Big Fun" (goes on too long and gets boring), and it's all my favorite. But "Return Of The Bump Squad" is on point. And the NPGMC live version is hot as fish grease!

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Get Wild and the Good Life, the rest is complete shit. Too many silly segues with the usual hood g rap type crap you find in the mid 90s with skits on rap albums. Sonny Thompson should have stuck to playing the bass, instead of trying to be Snoop Doggy Dogg.

.

Count the days would be good with the harmony singing, but all this liberaluse of Motherfucker and nihilistic thug lyrics "Got to blow this motherfucker away" is just pure watermelon music in my opinion. The fact they use harmony makes it sound like 1990s shucking and jiving for de white man. Skits are also unfunny and one of them is like "Get me soup bitch", is it any wonder it never saw commercial release.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I enjoy his comedy voices, but the humor in his deliberate comedy isn't as funny to me as his tongue in cheek lyrics are. For example I think that 'International Lover' is a, roll on the floor, funny song, way funnier than any of the jokes in any of his segues.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the rest is complete shit, but overall, you're right. He was influenced by hiphop (or shithop as Vainandy would say) way too much. The Exodus Has Begun is great, but he's getting a little too close to P-Funk on that one and we already have a George Clinton
So... If I had to choose a winner, it would be Get Wild, because it turned into a monsterjam when played live. Play that motherfucking bass! headbang
