Weird Prince Tribute CD at my wrekka stow Just saw this CD and already forgotten its name, it was called the "Worlds of Prince" or some crap like that, it was a 3CD set and was made by Record Brokers in Mexico! . The set I could not open as it was shrink wrapped in that horrible plastic stuff they have in hood shops to stop hoodrats stealing Rap CD's This whole set looked hood ass and a cash in. . It listed 3cds, CD1 was another rehash of the 94 east material with 11 songs including Just another sucker and One man Jam (I don't know exact tracks as I did not buy it). Disc 2 was a set of covers including Kiss by Art Of Noise and The Glamorous life by Sheila E and a version of Head by Ice T (Maybe I should have bought it). Disc 3 is a set called "Inspiration" and had songs like Fantastic Voyage by Lakeside and songs by The Chilites and Fatback band. . Has anyone seen or bought this set and is it any good or a tacky cash in. It cost $21.99 in NZ money and had a cover showing Prince made out of Gold records of various sizes. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Seen it, didn't buy it because it seemed whacked and I wasn't interested. The first cd was released a while ago under Minneapolis Genus 76 or something. The cover cd peeked my interest but I wasn't buying the whole set for 1. AND when I saw the tracks on the third cd, I knew the cd was made for suckas. I was born at night but not last night, so I passed. Beautiful, Loved and Blessed
Thank You Prince | |

That is exactly what I thought, this is for mugus (Nigerian for mugs/marks/gullible people) and the presence of the 94east shit and the covers along with some unrelated r and b jamz that kind of sound like Prince (But Bustop by Fatback band - god no!). . Since its cheep and nasty, likely a lot of it is rerecordings (The bane of cheap compilations, especially when the artist had the hit in 60s/70s and you have a recent re recording by the artist who sounds like they have been to hell and back). Seriously some recent Motown artist re recordings are painful. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Reminds me when I was a younger and I bought the 'Royal Mix' Vinyl from a well-know Record Store. It was essentially a mixtape with some scratch effects mixed in. Was it a bootleg? Absolutely. Did I still love it? Well, yes, simply because I had recently started following Prince and it included clips of a whole lot of songs I didn't know that well so I realised just how much I still had to explore!
