they were so right!

I'm really lovin' it, it's so magical and mystical, Shiela looks so pretty on those drums, I like the apples, and the moving camera, Cat dancing, Prince always ofcouse, and everything else!!! It's really all too beautiful, Heaven...

It's one of my favourites as well. I don't have it anymore but I remember it too well. It's magical and mystical - exactly how I would describe it. Dreamy and exotic...all things which tickle my fancy.

1988 was a great Prince year.
This video was directed by Jean Baptiste Mondino, a very creative guy from France who - if I recall correctly - was also involved in the artwork of the Lovesexy cover.

A year later, he made "Manchild" for Neneh Cherry which always reminded me of "I Wish U Heaven" because it also plays with colour and camera movement in a similar way.

I love the video for both this and Alphabet Street. Promos have never been Prince's strong point and though these were cheap they looked great. They captured the spirit of the Lovesexy album perfectly. Now all we get is the same PP soundstage in every vid.

doesn't it frustrate many of you [especially me] that in Prince we have a really cool, very watchable brilliant performer and yet the videos or lack of quality videos are so few and far between. Wish he'd made many more classics.
