he does look like he was limping, however, as i said in a recent post, i saw him "pimp-walking" in seattle, in 88. but yes, this looked more like a limp to me too.

Did he walk as somebody with a hip issue?

.

I was in the same plane as the NPG in 2011: (Paris -> Gdansk)

well, i wouldn't quite call it a pimp walk, the pimp walk is not a limp really. they say it was based on how black men in prison would walk when they had a ball and chain put on them, I don't know if that's true or not. but if you're not american, it is a black american invention, something seen as "cool" and yes I've seen with my own eyes, in person, prince do a pimpwalk in 88. He did it in the Purple Rain era too, on tour. I would think a man in his fifties wouldn't be doing that shit anymore though. the kids in my era did it all the time.

My dance teacher walked the same way, he was originally from the West Indies. It could just be a dance-related thing... Didn't Fame's Leroy Johnson walk that way too (if anyone remembers)? Some sort of cool dancer strut. Also Prince probably had some music playing in his head too... and maybe walked in rythm to it.

How does someone with a hip issue walk? Do they walk differently in heels? On medication? In flip-flop wedges? Is each day's pain level different, and if so how does that effect the walk? Morris had a hip issue - did we see him walking funny? I mean - Morris always walked funny, so who can tell.

He might have been wobbling a bit, but he did just get off a plane it seems, and he was walking like his ass was on fire, to get away from the camera guy, etc. I think all of those things probably lent to his walk in the video.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

This was the only video that disturbed me. He was leaning heavily on a real cane (not one of his scepter things). Halfway through he stands up...and it's just after he gives up on the elevator.

Thanks for sharing this! I never saw that clip before. Our Prince, walking in-style through the airport, LMAO!! Too cute!! Wonder when this was? Judging by his hair, looks like it was the late 90's?
