What is Prince saying? I have been a Prince fan since 1982 and, on YouTube, have finally heard "Computer Blue (extended version)". I know many of you have loved this extended song for years. Could anyone help me with the spoken word portion of the song? I appreciate your help.

Now that we have the lyrics, the important thing is this: What is he saying? In other words, what does he mean?

Glad you brought this up, never knew this existed! And somebodys saying there is sped up version and maybe a version in the songs original speed/key. When did this man ever rest?
Oh
He didn't like living alone
On the verge of a breakdown And take 4 granted the feeling's mutual

The song is BAD ASS but it's kind of annoying sped up like that. I'd like to hear it in it's proper key. Does a version of the "hallway speech" version exist that is at the correct tempo and pitch?"
I would like to know also? Anybody got this "hallway speech) version?

From the lyrics above, it sounds like he singing about the programing we go through in life and that it is our own minds that need to be programmed to understand the difference between love and lust. The hallways that he is naming, sounds as though he is talking about remembering the direction of a relationship, that it started as lust and notice at that point, her hand is kept on his thigh, but then became fearful (perhaps fearful that he was falling in love) and her grip on his thigh loosened, began to tremble, until she finally let them drop to her sides, then insecure (because when her hands dropped, he had not expected that after showing her his vulnerability) but maybe it wasn't unexpected and he smiled a demon smile as he looked into her eyes (perhaps he became mean as a result of his insecurity), in his remembrances, he could see how it all unfolded until he eventually grew to hate her, and noticed then that she was gone. And he hurt. So, his lust, fear, insecurities, caused the relationship to end, he pushed her away and he could see how it all unfolded but he forgot during all this that women are programmed too from childhood (They're computers 2) and our original programming can lead the direction the relationship will go.

Basically he's wondering what's wrong with him that leads him to repeat the same patterns with every woman. Fall too fast for them and then go from lust to hate and his demonic smile showed that his influence on them is negative and then he leaves...
