The Final Four? Your Favorite Prince's final 4 CDs
Plec, AOA, HNR1, HRN2.
What's your favorite?
AOA - My favorite, Prince's last true fully realized album and for me, my favorite of his entire catalog.

AOA-but I still can't listen to 'Way Back Home' or 'Breakdown'. Maybe this week...we'll see. A sophisticated mass-produced cacophony of no-win situations that aren't right...

But I do better with Breakdown, as long as I don't think too hard about the line, "I don't wanna wanna wanna go, no no no no no"

There all really average 2 below average albums...
The best OVERALL ALBUM I would say is AOA... But I think the best songs out of all of them are from PHASE 1, with HARDROCKLOVER & 1000 X's & O's.
ANOTHERLOVE, REVELATION are the other great tracks.

HNR2 for me, then AOA. Although overall, I have more positive memories and associations with AOA, as I got into that album while Prince was still alive, and it made me revisit Prince for a while and add some Prince tunes back onto my ipod playlist.
I didn't keep up with the HNR releases and only purchased them in April. I really enjoy the sound he was developing on HNR2 and wish we could see what direction he would have taken next.

I like AOA, there's some great stuff on but I find Time and What it Feels Like somewhat boring and can't stand Breakfast Can Wait. RIP

Hit n Run Phase 2. An incredible album, great music and no filler. Songs like Black Muse, Stare and Revelation are just genius, he really gave us his best before he left us. . AOA is pretty good too but has a skipper in Art Official Cage and the Affirmations. . The other two are very average and HitnRun Phase 1 is dreadful, but Boytrouble is by far his worst song since 1998's Newpower soul and the Rainbow children. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

same here Same for me also. Even though Phase 2 is really strong musically and has some outstanding songs like Revelation, Black Muse and Look At Me there's just too many old tracks on it.

AOA. This Christmas I am giving copies of it to almost everyone I know. For me, it is better than even the Purple Rain album.

I like AOA, then HNR1, then 2, then Plectrum right now. It changes through the years, though, so...ten years from now it may be a different order.

I would agree. Simply it has a maturity and poignancy that would not have been possible before.

HNR phase 2, the record has a gem : Black Muse ; the overall organic sound of the record is in the style of the excellent D'Angelo's 'Black Messiah'.
I don't agree for 'Boytrouble', the track is excellent and has a remarkable bass work.
Don't agree too for the track sung by Hannah, 'Whitecaps' is nice, melodic, and near the style of what was doing The pretenders in the 80's.
I'm not very fond on AOA, of songs like 'The breakdown' or 'Way back home' ; however, the modern sound of this record is interesting.
i prefer the original version of '1000 hugs', i find it way better than the version on AOA.
